Packing for a holiday. I will be staying in a series of relatively isolated huts and cabins, so I need to make sure that I have everything I need.
I had trouble sending a package abroad from Iran mostly to do with the item of clothing enclosed. DHL, Amarex and TNT wouldn't send such items to the US and I didn't want to count on the regular mail.
As I was heading to India I thought I'd do it from there and although our hotel in Mumbai was very close to a DHL point, the price was silly dollar - outdoing the pack value by 3-times.
I then took the package to Goa and tried to do regular post - but the regular post requires special packaging - as shown in construction above.
The post office in Goa was a task, what with the slow service, rude locals who assumed that if you talk in the queue, you are not queuing. On the second attempt the guy behind the desk just left for the bank during the afternoon, leaving a massive queue. Third time lucky though, we got it sent off rather cheap and it took a week and a half.

it's saturday but still lots of prep to do before then.
packing is such a long ordeal involving outfit checks so i don't overpack, which i inevitably do anyway.
sigh.
this trip is heavily skirt and dress laden strangely.

Malaria prophylaxis, bug spray, Advil, Pepto-Bismol, sun-block, Tums, anti-bacterial wash, deodorant, and more!
We finally did it. A neatly packed pile of only a few bags for a trip of only a few days. The trick was pretty simple and pretty depressing. I left the SLR at home, and went with just the pocket sized camera. And shooting JPGs on the little camera meant that I didn't need to bring the laptop to absorb the raws.
Packing for NYC. So glad to finally get rid of this unused plane ticket to f*cking Boston. So excited to meet up with some friends.
boy thought it was funny to stick me in the boot. I begged him to let me out but supposedly the mice get front seat on the way down :(

Ian busy stacking the chairs inside the bar area, before we roll down the steel shutters.
The light fittings are all wrapped in plastic bags and sprayed with WD-40 to prtect against the winter damp.
Everything inside the bar is packed away, all appliances and surfaces protected by plastic sheeting, and all the tables and barstools placed on the bar counter or in the bar area.
Snow-Proof Safety Cone was a little worried I would forget him, but I reassured the lil guy that I only forget the UNimportant things--toothbrush, passport, pants--and that because I am who I am, he would never be left behind.
He hopped in my suitcase anyway, but he definitely rode in the cup holder or in my lap most of the time.

I spent Saturday and Sunday morning packing up. One of the last things I packed was my Honduran milk snake (Lampropeltis triangulum hondurensis). I put him in a pillowcase for the road trip up to Pennsylvania. I rewarded him Monday with some mice.
One fascinating thing about milk snakes is their speciation. Lampropeltis triangulum elapsoides is the scarlet milk snake I highlighted earlier. There is also Lampropeltis triangulum triangulum, the Eastern milk snake. I think the difference in appearance and widespread distribution as well as the many subspecies really highlight the success of these snakes.

Day three of the regime change and Mr Fox had been reinstated with many of his former responsibilities - taking out the rubbish, bean gather and collecting the post. In fact Mr Fox had become Chief Fox once again in all but name.
But the the name counted for something.
He knew what he had to do, but in order to do that he needed new equipment. Until it was ready he'd have to lay low.
Today he decided to double check his packing arrangement for Friday's move!
...sort of a test run, really. I'm packing for Steampunk Night tomorrow after work!
I am bringing those boots and the uniform to Mexico though, for reals!
I know I haven't posted lately but I promise new pictures are coming! I'm currently packing for my two week trip to Europe so after this busy month I had I can't wait for all the fun and exciting adventure. I've come to find travel photography to be one of my favorite things (: so bear with me and expect new things in the next week or so!
