Today I started packing for spring break. I can't pack. It's not that I can't get everything to fit, it's that I pack too much. From what I packed, you would have though I was leaving for a month instead of a week. I get the "packing gene" from my dad, he overpacks too. But, by packing, it means that I am going home soon, and I am really excited about that.

Epiphany falls on the 6th of January and represents the end of the twelve days of Christmas and the arrival of the Magi. In some Christian cultures the day in celebrated with the giving of gifts. Here the tradition is to ensure that all Christmas decorations are removed by Twelfth Night, the day preceding Epiphany, to prevent misfortune in the house. My decorations are now all packed away and stored in my garage, including this little set of wooden toys that my mother gave me nearly 20 years ago.
