This is how to pack a weeks worth of clothes without wrinkles. Everything is layered together and folded over the odd shaped stuff in the middle. I lay the pants the long way. The shirts I put with the body inside the case and the sleeves draped on the pants legs on either side. Shirts are alternated - one hangs out at one side and the next is hanging out the opposite side. The pants hanging outside the case are then folded towards the middle like you are wrapping a present in 15 layers of paper. I learned this from a book. It works very well.
Haven't done one of these in a while. Things change. Reducing down to the essence.

Getting some of my absolute essentials packed and together for our big house electrical rewire next week. I feel like all I have done for 3-4 weeks is pack things, remove things, throw things out, pack things. It's relentless.
This weekend I am emptying the home office in preparation of pulling up the wood flooring on Monday. Not something I am particularly looking forward to.
All done! There's my handbag, my laptop, and my luggage. The balikbayan box is too big and heavy to move to put into the picture.
This is the best packing job I've ever seen on a bike or frame. It took me a half hour to unwrap it but everything arrived undamaged.

Packing boxes to send home in preparation for the tour of Virginia that marks the end of my work here at Virginia Opera. What a pain in the butt.

I hate packing. I'm really bad at it. I spend a couple of days gradually building up piles of stuff I might need & then I pack and unpack endlessly the night and morning before I go.
Today's photo is a range of things I could take with me piled up, with the bag hovering below and me hoping they just start jumping in ....
