My stack of gear to pack for the trip (some items didn't make it). Rob and I each packed a backpack and a duffel bag for the trip.
First 5 1/2 are done, the remaining 1 1/2 will hopefully survive the travel, as the masts are too sturdy to be removed from the ships themselves without completely destroying the ships.
Now there are just two more, small ships that need to be prepared, but that shouldn't take that long...
David continues to enhance his packing sprites preset better. Just having fun packing just about anything I want which is what my quest has been since I first heard about Jigsaw Image Mosaics. Again, thanks to David (Mr. G'MIC) for continually making his gift better and better. :)
We're packing our things again, when I decided to take the shot and Tommaso immediately covered his face with a paper, grrrr. Please don't look at the messy room!!

It's a three-day weekend, and it's time for our second (ever) backpacking trip.
To make the most of the long weekend, tomorrow morning we're taking the girls to their grandparents and then we are heading off into a nearby wilderness for a couple of days backpacking. Getzger and Alek are being left in charge back home, so hopefully the cats will be fed while we're gone. With luck the weather will hold good, though they are starting to predict rain and Monday is going to be fifteen to twenty degrees cooler, so packing clothes for the trip's a bit of a challenge.
Today we bought a rain cover for Ginger's backpack and did the last of the shopping for the trip. We also had to get stuff ready for Lanie, who's away on a sleep-over tonight. As soon as we can pick her up tomorrow morning, we're off.
Today's picture shows all my stuff ready to be put into my backpack. Total weight of pack and contents including food and water around 34-35lbs. Ginger carries half the food, cooking pot, fly sheet for the tent and the tent footprint. Her pack weighed in at 33lbs.

I looove dots,stars and stripes! As you can see...Anyways, I love packing,but I seem to over pack waaay to much!! There for making it super hard to close my suitcase!
Capt. Chris Pulliam, commander of Company H, 1st Battalion, 121st Infantry Regiment, Georgia National Guard, finishing packing up his parachute, May 10, after jumping from a C-130 “Hercules” aircraft at Vaziani Training Area in the country of Georgia. Company H is supporting air operations for exercise Noble Partner. The exercise is scheduled to take place May 11 to 26 and will include approximately 1300 participants from the U.S., Georgia and the U.K. The exercise is a reoccurring training event that takes place at Vaziani Training Area, Georgia. Noble Partner 16 is a critical part of Georgia's training for its contribution of a light infantry company to the NATO Response Force (NRF) and enhances Georgian territorial self-defense capability. It is a mess so far as we need to box everything as well as make sure we are ready to properly deal with the recovered bits of the gondola when it returns.
Checking out of a hotel, I had to fit everything back into my bags and I've purchased a couple of extra things along the way.
Everything on the bed here has to fit into the large green bag. I'd gotten as far as pulling it all out of the wardrobe and drawers and then deciding to stress out for a bit before proceeding.
