She left pieces of her life behind her everywhere she went
it's easier to feel the sunlight without them she said
-- Brian Andreas
Stitched on white cotton with 1 strand of black DMC floss. Back stitch. I cut and frayed the white cotton and then stitched it to a silky black polyester with two strands of a gold metallic thread, straight stitches.
In a five inch square plastic frame.
I wish I had a better camera without a scuffed lens so I could take better pictures of these things.
This is a holiday gift for a friend; the first piece I've finished in a year.
Time leans heavy on this forgotten door,
its crimson skin flaking like memories left untold.
Vines cling like ghosts of seasons past,
whispering stories through brittle stems and broken glass.
What once opened to life now stands still,
a quiet threshold where nature writes its reclaiming verse
in every knot of wood and twist of root.
I have been tagged many times to do the 'What's in your purse?' photo, but I (being the neat freak that I am) take everything out of my purse every time I use it. I also don't often use a normal purse; I usually use something that can easily fit a few books, a water bottle, and a small camera bag inside. ;) I also switch bags out very frequently, so the items in my bag change all the time.
So instead, here are a few things that are currently/always on my desk. Simple photo for today.
By the way, Happy Mother's Day to moms everywhere!
On earth there is no heaven, but there are pieces of it.

All the years I've tried
With more to go
Will the memories die
I'm waiting
Will I find you?
Can I find you?
We're falling down
I'm falling
Every time I’m falling down
All alone I fall to pieces
Every time I’m falling down
All alone I fall to pieces
Every time I’m falling down
All alone I fall to pieces
Every time I’m falling down
All alone I fall to pieces

As my exploration of Prequel ships continues, I'm trying to shift my focus to Minifig-scale more, and decided to give a crack at Obi-Wan's sleek Delta-7 from Episode II: Attack of the Clones.
At exactly 400 pieces, this compact and angular ship was full of technical challenges, especially with the constraint of making a proper interior that could accommodate a full Obi-Wan Minifigure without ending up with a bulky design.
Following my "wings must be as thin as possible" philosophy (like the Eta-2), I used a combination of plates & tiles for the outline of the wings, and bricks on their sides for the rest: this resulted in 2-plate thick wings, which give the ship all its slenderness, especially seen from lower angles. At this scale, and given how compact the ship is in-universe, I wanted to respect the slim and sharp look of the original design.
Making a functional cockpit with comfortable space was the most daunting task as I needed to securely attach the fin section and both angled fuselage parts that surround the cockpit without using any vertical space, where Obi-Wan sits. I also managed to incorporate a dashboard that doesn't obstruct the pilot's view and depicts the screen fairly well.
The model features detachable landing gear to be displayed on the ground, as well as a canted stand for a more dynamic pose. The model is very stable overall and perfectly swooshable.

Freezer paper pieces ironed to the fabric and ready to sew! I drew the pattern on one whole sheet of freezer paper and then cut out each piece so that they would all fit back together like a puzzle.
Started with an actual cow jawbone as the inspiration to this lino print, entitled "Eat More Chicken"

Day 85/100
With working pendular axles, but this led me to make something cruel to two pieces ( www.bricklink.com/PL/30256.jpg?0 ) to get the axles - however, they were damaged long time ago, approx ten years)
left to right:
Reaper Destroyer- rook
Harvester - knight
Reaper - bishop
Catalyst - king
Harbinger - queen
I chose the models for the particular pieces in a way that makes some sense.
The Catalyst is the king, Shepard "wants" to get to him.
Harbinger is the queen because it is kind of a Reaper leader.
The rooks are Reaper Destroyers, "stationary" Reapers.
Harvesters look a little bit like horses and because the knights are "horses" in german it seemed appropriate besides the fact that they are ground force just like the Kodiaks.
For the bishops (in german "walker") I chose normal Reapers because the bishops are something like a less powerful queen.
Sorry! Got caught doing a few more online jigsaw puzzles - I knew I should never have started, lol. Oh, well, they are good for the brain. Many so far are easy puzzles, but relaxing. Sometimes, I do a more complicated one. When I put in the last piece of any puzzle, it immediately replaces the puzzle with the picture of the puzzle, but with no outlines of the individual pieces. Can't find any way to have it with those outlines, so I am just posting either the picture or showing puzzle pieces with one piece not quite in place. I guess you can tell that I love old barns/houses and old trucks : )
Yes, I know, I NEED to get out for a drive : )
