Was surprised to see Sweet Peas in Grangewood Park.

unfortunately i did not take photos of the cake before everyone dug in, but it was my baby shower and i didn't want to be distracted by taking photos. so this photo was taken after everyone dug in and i rescued some of the pea pods that were set aside.
robert and i saw this baby shiba commercial our flickr friend lamont cranston posted and after seeing it, i thought baby shiba (part of memishiba) would be a fun theme for the baby's room. the inspiration for this pea pod themed cake was the character edamame from memishiba. these pea pods are not intended in anyway to look like edamame. i just told my buddy misty about a talking pea pod and she ran with it.
May 30th 2015 was a very special day, In October 2014 a Young Man called Olly Newmans vehicle was hit by an uninsured driver, he sustained serious injuries , including a terrible head injury, this young man was a very talented musician and surfer , the St Ouens Bay community and the people of Jersey came together to raise money for his future needs, a trust has been set up for Olly, and a truly spectacular event was set up by 3 three of his closest friends .
So far a staggering £22.250.00 and still rising has been raised selling T-Shirts cakes and this incredible event .. It was held at a venue called The WATERSPLASH in St Ouens bay. Local bands came down and played and there was a ticketed band night in the evening.....It was called PEAS AND GLOVE because it was one of Ollys sayings ( peace and love ) ..Spread the love

I've always kind of enjoyed cooking. When I got my first house I sent a lot of time experimenting with all sorts of strange concoctions in the kitchen, but later years saw laziness setting in and a reduction in my culinary activity.
The last few months, though, I've rediscovered my love of cooking. My girlfriend and I decided that we were eating far too much packaged food so we've been eating almost entirely fresh food for a while. We've found some good cookbooks and we've been rustling up lots of food from scratch.
I've done most of the cooking (Jo isn't a fan of pans etc) and we've felt much better for it. Some of the meals have been absolutely lovely, especially when we've tried the odd Jamie Oliver recipe - he really does write some good, tasty recipes.
Today saw me cooking a hearty lamb stew (not by Jamie, or even anyone famous). It involved lots of shallots among plenty of other vegetables from our local greengrocer, and some delicious lamb as purchased from our local butcher.
Buying from the local shops is much preferable than upping the profits at the supermarket I think.
These peas, though, came from Sainsbury's. It's almost impossible to buy everything from the shops on the high street. Still, the meal was delicious and lasted us for two days.

About to be made into a delicious warm broad bean, pea, chorizo and goats' cheese "salad" for our dinner!

alistair was so happy to have these peas. he loved them a lot. i couldn't watch him eat them. peas and i are not friends.

Pachinko parlors can be found everywhere in Japan, many of them having buildings designed to draw attention. Here is one of the best known of them, the Green Peas Pachinko from Shinjuku, Tokyo.
Pachinko is a type of mechanical game originating in Japan and is used as both a form of recreational arcade game and much more frequently as a gambling device, filling a Japanese gambling niche comparable to that of the slot machine in Western gaming. A pachinko machine resembles a vertical pinball machine, but has no flippers and uses a large number of small balls. The player fires balls into the machine, which then cascade down through a dense forest of pins. If the balls go into certain locations, they may be captured and sequences of events may be triggered that result in more balls being released. The object of the game is to capture as many balls as possible. These balls can then be exchanged for prizes. Pachinko machines were originally strictly mechanical, but modern ones have incorporated extensive electronics, becoming similar to video slot machines.
I took this photo on a hike at the Pea Ridge Military Park. It is some kind of caterpillar or worm. There were a few of them around and I also saw several leaves that had tons of little bites on them.
