"Peas."

Okay, PLEASE what is this stuff?

"Peas are growing here, Clancy."

Hahaha, and what's growing way off behind me, poos?

"That's corn."

Some more sweet peas ( short stemmed )

Thanks for the views, faves and comments

Taking ideas from the kitchen again this week. As I prepared my tea the other night I measured out some frozen peas into a cup. Couldn’t resist a few shots before cooking them. I did take some shots during and after but they were less inspirational

The peas have certainly had a lot of pods. They will all be picked before the really hot weather.

Our drive to the cabin was a slow one as we left early in the morning and drove for three hours in heavy fog that was like pea soup. I have not seen such heavy fog last as long as this did. Even the fog in Newfoundland was never this bad when we were there. We were so relieved when the blue skies prevailed about an hour before we got to the park and we had great weather from noon on. I love this image because the cold blue tones of winter show up on the snow while the hint of a sunrise was trying to break through the heavy fog. Happy Tree-mendous Tuesday!

We followed the Rogue River for part of our drive from Crescent City CA to Crater Lake OR. These pretty purple Sweet Peas were growing near the river. HCS!

The sweet peas are planted alongside the fence that leads to our door ... their heavenly scent greets us on exit and entry. Rosa plants them just for me (so she says) because they are my favourite (along with tulips). From year-to-year we never know what colours we will get - this year we have 4 distinct colours including the 'fuchsia' that you see here. A few others from years past are in the first comment box.

Sweet peas and sunshine.

So much better than grey clouds, rain and a thunderstorm brewing, which is the forecast for today.

Better viewed large and thank you for your favourites.

Flowers are the theme for today's photos, first an Australian native that grows either as ground cover or as a climber, the Dusky Coral Pea (Kennedia Rubicunda) grows wild where I live. This shot was taken with my phone at the road side in a state forest.

I was late in planting out our sweet peas this year and for a long time didn't think they were going to flower at all, but they did - after everyone else's had finished and they are still hanging on.

Butterfly pea flower comes from a plant called clitoria ternatea that's native to Southeast Asia. The flowers are deep blue in color with a tinge of purple. The dried flowers are popular in Southeast Asia to color food like rice and it's also brewed in water to make a blue-colored tea. A drop of Lemon juice will turn Blue in Purple.
