This year I planted a lot of peas in hopes of having lots in my freezer for winter stews. The groundhogs obliterated the patch here in my garden, but I still had some that I planted at my mom’s house. They started producing peas a week or two ago.
I took this photo on a hike at the Pea Ridge Military Park. I looked in a guide book when I got home and I am pretty sure this is a very poisonous mushroom.

We finally got some wire trellis organised for the climbing peas which the boys planted. This one is a cylinder of wire with the pot of peas inside.

I'm not sure what species of legume I photographed by the roadside, but the photo is nice so I'll post it anyway.

but I tried also radish, and it worked very well (they looked perfect, but very hot weather put them to flowering, so not all of them were eaten)
this is only last part of peas harvest, we already ate around 20
The children ate the first peas of the year. They went down slightly better than the first broad beans

Pea Ridge Battlefield, Arkansas
This Union battery of cannons are pointed at the Morgan's Woods section of the Pea Ridge battlefield. Here the Union infantry and artillery beat back a vigorous assault by General Hebert's Arkansas and Louisiana troops.
This is a peas roti, made from green pigeon peas, cooked, mashed, seasoned and stuffed inside the dough before it's rolled out and made into roti. We generally make and are used to dhalpuri (made with yellow split peas the same way) in Trinidad, particularly commerically. But many homes in Trinidad make peas puri or peas roti also. The way they make peas dhal!

Another peas pic from yesterday. Again used a gold reflector to try and brighten up the really dull overcast light of the winter day.
Just going back and adding this pea shot to the Beyond Layers Green day.
In just a little over a month, these peas have climbed about 2 feet up the fence and have several blooms. So excited!!
This necklace is just a smidge under 18 inches. It has three strands, a large variety of gemstones, and an adorable pea pod, pewter pendant. The peas in the pod have tiny smiling faces. :)
The gemstones include apple green turquoise, silver toned pyrite, green freshwater pearls, serpentine, red adventurine, yellow jasper, madagascar carnelian, and sterling silver findings.

Fresh peas for my Grandma's beef stew from the farmer's market
Made from a button, ric rac, trim, and a jelly roll. The bracelet is made a jelly roll strip, as are the peas. I added ric rac at the top of the pod and a cute sparkly trim. Moda fabrics include mainly Hello Luscious and the peas also have some Lilly and Will and Good Fortune. Hope you like!
