East Yorkshire Motor Services LAT68 a Leyland Titan PD2 with a Roe Beverley Bar body which was new in 1950.
Among the best postwar buses bought by Oldham were PD2/3's 337-361 of 1949 (337 appeared at the 1948 Commercial Motor Show and varied in details from the rest). This view taken prior to the opening of Ashton's Bus Station in 1963, at the old terminus of the Rochdale route 9 opposite the Fire Station.
Letter M was used by Oldham for short workings of the 9 route within its own operating territory between Hathershaw and Summit, so its unusual to see it used here on a departure from Ashton. The offside number box had pretty much fallen into disuse by this time as can be seen by it showing 11, a local Oldham route.

Weymann-bodied Leyland Titan PD2/3 no. 127 (KEL 127) at Bournemouth's Mallard Road depot in April 1972. The last of this batch were just being withdrawn.

Although rather tightly packed, the Transport Museum houses a number of buses, including this vehicle, which is no. 54 / AHF 850, an ex Wallasey Corporation Transport, Leyland Titan PD2/1. It was one of 23 vehicles delivered in 1951, with rather old style, 1937 bodywork by Metropolitan Cammel of Birmingham. The vehicle passed to the Merseyside Passenger Transport Executive but was withdrawn in 1972, when it was bought for private preservation. It arrived at the Transport Museum in 2004.
The Bournemouth-Bath rally was a really good event at the tailend of the season. Here's RTW 185, looking as good as it always does.

A puzzle for all you experts! On 20th May 1990 this bus was in Ensign's Yard at Purfleet. I am told that the bodywork was by Reading of Portsmouth and it may have been ex-Jersey. Any advances on that please?
Preserved all-Leyland PD2 tow truck GM 5875 was new to was new to Central SMT (#475), being rebuilt to a tow truck after passing to Alexander (Midland) and is pictured wearing Birkenhead Corporation livery when pictured on display at a rally at Woodside, Birkenhead.
Another tribute in model form, this time, my attempt to represent one of the vehicles ofVagg, Knockin Heath, Shropshire. The inspiration came from the excellent book "Independent Buses in Shropshire" and the only colour view I have found of one of Vagg's two all-Leyland PD2s, which they had from new (the only new double deckers bought new by a Shropshire independent). The photo of GAW700 (the model is posed on the book) was taken by Vic Nutton.

Saw this ex Maidstone, Leyland PD2, 20 UKK, a number of times whilst travelling through Burton upon Trent, parked in the yard of a car dealer on the east side of the town. made the effort one day to stop and get a photograph of a bus which looked in good condition and in a livery not to unlike the local East Staffordshire fleet.

Rare Manchester PD2 /34 3520 with Burlingham body at Manchester Transport Museums Manchester 100 day 2006.
PD2/34 = 27’ x 8’0” – exposed radiator – direct selection epicyclic gearbox – air brakes
This bus has unique to Manchester fully auto pnemocyclic gears later converted to semi auto but retaining the CAV selector (Usual Semi auto PD2's had the pedistal durect air change.
Gears sound just like a Leyland engined RM.
