Sensational discovery.

The theory of parallel universes which has long been discussed among physicists around the globe has finally been proven. While a detailed report is yet to be published, rumor has it that a gate to parallel universes has been discovered at the most unlikely of places: the bottom of a sherry glass (see the note in the accompanying image).

Whether the discovery has been made before or after the consumption of the sherry and how much of the substance was possibly needed for the experiments to succeed remains yet to be investigated. Stay tuned for further news.

;-)

Enjoy!

Firle Place is a Manor house in Firle, East Sussex, United Kingdom and is the family seat of Nicolas Gage, 8th Viscount Gage, whose family the Viscounts Gage have owned the land at Firle since acquiring it from the Levett family in the 15th century. The manor house was first built in the late 15th century by Sir John Gage, who made Firle Place his principal home. He held many high offices, including Constable of the Tower and was an executor of Henry VIII's will.

The external cladding of the building is Georgian, using Caen Stone to make it look like a classical French Chateau. This work was completed by Sir William Gage, 7th Baronet who inherited the house in 1713 and the house is set in typically open parkland. The interior of the house however is Tudor in style and circulates around a central courtyard. The house has an extensive collection of paintings, porcelain and furniture, including works by Gainsborough, Reynolds, Van Dyck, Raphael, Puligo, Zoffany and Teniers.

During World War I, students from the nearby Southover Manor School in Lewes were housed here, and during World War II, Canadian soldiers were quartered here.

Open to the public during the summer months, the house and grounds area also used as a film and television location, it has featured in shows, including the BBC's Jonathan Creek and the three-part miniseries The Line of Beauty. BBC's Bake Off Creme de la Creme Series 2 which aired in 2017.

Since the 15th century the Gages have lived at Firle, following the marriage of William Gage to Agnes Bolney whose family had previously owned the seat at Firle. (The Bolneys held the lordship of Firle briefly after acquiring it from the bankrupt lord of the manor Thomas Levett.) This holding was further expanded by their son Sir John Gage who inherited land belonging to his father-in-law, Sir Thomas St Clere. In 1479 a second John Gage was born and it was he who became the ward to the Duke of Buckingham when his father died in 1497.

Sir John became quite prominent at the court of King Henry VIII and even accompanied the king on an expedition to France. Following such campaigns and his competence in battle he was appointed Vice-Chamberlain to the King. Sir John also served as a key figure in the dissolution of the monasteries in Sussex, despite the fact that he remained a Catholic.

Sir John's son, Edward, later became a Knight of the Bath and the Sheriff of Sussex and in 1556 oversaw the execution of the 17 "Sussex Martyrs" during the Marian Persecutions of 1555–57.

The Gage Baronet was created by John Gage (d. 1633) in 1622. The 7th Baronet, Sir William Gage (1695–1744), was notable for his interest in cricket, particularly in Sussex. It is often thought that beginnings of what is now Firle Cricket Club started with Sir William. In 1754 this Baronet title was raised by Irish-born Thomas Gage to the Peerage of Ireland as Baron Gage and Viscount Gage.

Another notable Gage is General Thomas Gage who was made Commander in Chief of the British forces in North America. However, following the outbreak of the American War of Independence, he was relatively successful but after disastrous losses at Battle of Bunker Hill he was replaced. His son, also called Thomas Gage (1781–1820), following what was now a family tradition was a botanist and traveller and had the Gagea genus of flower named after him.

The current Viscount Gage, Henry Nicholas Gage, lives at Firle. For more information please visit en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Firle_Place and firle.com/

I came upon a flock of seagulls by the St. Lawrence River today. This one took a walk on its own, all puffed up and looking proud.

They painted labourers working hard to “lift a hammer”, symbolizing the grit and determination of Hamiltonians.

Now owned by the National Trust, Seaton Delaval Hall was designed by Sir John Vanbrugh (who died two years before it was finally completed in 1728). A devastating fire badly damaged the main part of the building in 1822 and it lay open to the elements for nearly 40 years before the roof was reinstated. The interior of the main part of the building is still an empty shell.

Snowdrop season

Aye – they’re back. And, they’ll be here for a while.

We went to the special snowdrop event at Branklyn Garden… and we were not disappointed. It was surprisingly busy for a frosty, but sunny, Friday morning.

The gardens don’t have big drifts of snowdrops. But, they do have a lot of varieties.

I didn’t take note of the names of the snowdrop varieties. So, I’ll give them my own name… starting with textured snowdrop.

I do not own these pictures,

just a concept I quickly slapped together...

No need to make a big fuss here,

I just needed to vent out my frustration!!

Bad enough that I have little time to tend to this account,

but I've had several "bad panda" episodes, among other issues,

making replying to you all in a timely fashion near impossible.

Let it be known I love animals and dislike violence of any kind,

except in movies, of course!!

So killing a real panda would stand against everything I believe in.

But when I see this picture appearing on my screen,

I truly feel murderous....

I would try to look at one of your pictures

and the window would open perhaps after a long delay,

on the 4th attempt, or I'd get the "bad panda".

I'd try to post a comment/award, and they'd keep having problems...

I've even had times when Flickr itself "could not be found"!!!

Yahoo lost its Flickr?!?

I know I'm losing my temper, if not quite yet my mind.

It's been 4 months now since I haven't renewed my Pro account

and I won't until I get a performing product,

not this kind of b%ll$h?t...

As I said,

no need to make a big deal about this here,

but if you also need to vent out some of your issues,

feel free!!

I'll listen!!

:D

This object is found within our own galaxy, located some 5,200 light-years from Earth in the constellation Sagittarius. This means that the best time of year to observe M8 is during the months of July to August. The common name of NGC6523 is the Lagoon Nebula, as its shape and appearance resembles that of a pond of a star-forming interstellar cloud and gas. The Lagoon Nebula, M8, was discovered in 1654 by the Italian astronomer Giovanni Battista Hodierna, who, like Charles Messier, sought to catalog nebulous objects in the night sky so they would not be mistaken for comets. Its apparent magnitude, brightness, of 6 makes it faintly visible to the naked eye in dark skies.

In the photo we can see the triple apse of the church of that monastery.

In the eternal controversy of whether the famous HOLY GRAIL really existed, one of the traditions places that venerated relic at a certain moment in history in the Monastery of San Juan de la Peña, located south of the town of Santa Cruz de la Serós in Huesca, Aragón, Spain.

ORIGINS: The Royal Monastery of San Juan de la Peña located in Botaya, southwest of Jaca, Huesca, Aragón (Spain), was the most important monastery in Aragon in the early Middle Ages. In his Royal Pantheon a good number of kings of Aragon were buried. It is part of the Aragonese way of the Camino de Santiago. Its location is extremely unique.

Legend has it that a young nobleman named Voto (in some versions, Oto), came hunting in these places when he spotted a deer.

The hunter ran after the prey, but this was fleeing and when he reached Mount Pano, he fell off the cliff.

Miraculously, his horse landed smoothly.

Safe and sound at the bottom of the ravine, he saw a small cave in which he discovered a hermitage dedicated to Saint John the Baptist and, inside, he found the corpse of a hermit named Juan de Atarés.

Impressed by the discovery, he went to Zaragoza, sold all his goods with his brother Felix, retired to the cave, and began a hermit life.

THE HOLY GRAIL: According to the Spanish legend about the Holy Grail, it remained in the monastery, after passing through various locations such as the Yebra de Basa cave, San Pedro de Siresa monastery, San Adrián de Sásabe church, San Pedro de the Royal Seat of Bailo, the Cathedral of Jaca, from 1071 to 1399.

The need to attract pilgrims to Santiago who passed through the nearby path from Jaca to the monastery advised that the relic be located there. In 1399 King Martín I took the sacred vase to the Aljafería de Zaragoza palace, where he stayed for more than twenty years, after a brief stay in Barcelona, accompanying the king and later moved to the Valencia Cathedral.

The first place in Spain where it is celebrated with the Roman Christian rite is in the Kingdom of Aragon in the monastery of San Juan de la Peña, on March 22, 1071, during the stay of the Holy Grial in the monastery and then it becomes official in the rest of the kingdom, replacing the Mozarabic Christian rite.

Jack: Did, curl his hand around hers when she put her own hand in his.. his gaze lowered to watch the contact between them, a squeeze given, but the grip was weaker than how he might have normally held her. "I don't want to feel this way.... I'm trying here.. I'm trying to think of any good reason... " he was possessive, she knew that and it was one of his flaws but a flaw she'd accepted him for a long time ago; So the thought that for a moment however brief he didn't possess her, that she didn't belong to him was a hard one to swallow. "I'm trying Lex.. if my heart didn't still belong to you... you'd have already been kicked out of that door... I want forgive and forget... help me do that... help me fall for you again... that's gonna take time... "

Alexis: felt that weak grasp and slight pulse of a squeeze. It wasn't much, but it something and right now...she'd take whatever she could get from him. While none of it was her intentions, she'd found herself persuaded into that stupid theory that the grass was greener on the other side and damn if that wasn't a lesson hard learned, but nevertheless....learned, burned, and embedded into her brain. It was horrible to see someone that you cared about, loved with every beat of your heart, hurting. It was even worse when you were the reason for their pain. She never wanted to hurt him and sure that was something easier said now, than stopped before it even happened. But, as pathetic as a excuse, as it might have been...she was human. A guy, someone completely different than what anyone would have ever expected for her..caught her attention and held it briefly. But...as the saying goes... Treat her like a Queen, she'll treat you like her King...treat her like a game...She'll show you how it's played... Jack...Jack had always made her feel like a Queen. Sure they had their ups and downs..but she knew who spoke to her soul.. he wasn't a 'fun time'....he was a 'long time'. "I promise you..." she whispered, as he gave her head a little more of a notable squeeze. "I won't let you give up on us...I won't give up on you...I am where I belong...I know that now more than ever and I'm so sorry that it took this for me to reopen my eyes and realize what I've nearly lost for absolutely nothing..." She felt that way, lost. She had been completely lost, while in Cali. Lost touch of who she really was and what she actually deserved. But after a few childish mishaps and dealing with a narcissist who was sure he could find better. She woke up and realized her worth and that sure as hell wasn't it. "Jack...sometimes two people have to fall completely apart, before they can fall back together..." quietly she'd edge herself up near his lap and attempt to curl her arms around him in silence.

Sooooo… People have asked me, if I ever make fullperm mesh. I've wanted to for a while but I've been so busy with other stuff that I haven't really been able to focus on it much! My sister Archer Candy and I both make all of our own meshes and we thought a while back how cool it would be to have a mesh store with full perm and semi-exclusive meshes. So we created MaM - Make a Mesh… we've both been really busy so we hadn't done anything with it yet, but I decided wanted to finally start using it and sharing my meshes with everyone! So I hope you like them.

SOOOOoooooooo.... HERE IT IS: my first Semi-Exclusive mesh (drumrolls): The One Shoulder Backpack. ONLY 11 will be sold in total! On sale in front of my store Breaux Jr. until Friday for a discount: $1500L and will go up to $2000 on marketplace and at MaM mainstore for any that are left!

I have my own business. I work often with banks and real estate companies. This day I was asked for a very special favor and house sit. The couple was moving and the movers were coming in and couple could not be there. They wanted someone to keep eye on the movers as house was loaded with extremely expensive items. I sat in chair for a few days as they packed up and moved belongings out. This is the main entrance. One angle of what you see. These stairs are custom. One piece of wood makes the curve. The doorway you see there was the library and every wall was stocked with books. Incredible home in Rosedale Toronto, Ontario

This sheep owned Kinder Scout (a very high hill in the Peak District if you're not familiar)- just look how proud he was to have reached the top before us!....here he is trying to look all aloof and Kingly, but a few seconds after this, he was showing great interest in our picnic. I think he was after my Tunnocks Caramel Wafer (if you're not in the UK you might not know what these are- they are the food of Gods). He looks like a sheep of exceptional taste, doesn't he?

Wishing you all a great week ahead....and, can I be the first to say, isn't it dark early!!

Well hi there! This is my second upload this weekend, which means that I´m uploading images every day right now :) This was shot yesterday in my bedroom, on the same occasion as this. This photo is based on the classical idea of having your head in the clouds. I thought I could do my own interpretation of it with my bff the Bubble! This way, I could increase the feeling of being in your own atmosphere.

I´ve been wanting to create a photo like this for sooooo long (like 1,5 years!) because I´ve often felt that I´m living more in my head and dreams than in the physical world. Last year I had that feeling more often than I do now, and I must say that being a little more down to earth isn´t so bad.

----

If you don´t know what you´re going to create next, or in what direction you want to take your photography or other art form, I have one simple advice for you: Follow your goosebumps. I saw an interview on television this weekend with the swedish singer Lisa Nilsson and she mentioned this quote as one of her favorites. I love it!
