The Rockies, looming in the distance. See that fog hanging over the top of the peaks? We didn't know it at the time, but that was not a good sign.

While Ghoulia is newer and it's understandable that she only has one doll, what about Deuce & Lagoona!?! They need more dolls! Hopefully they'll get them next year.

Another SOLD OUT/STANDING ROOM ONLY show last Saturday night at RSL Club Southport. The Eagels Band once again showed why they continue to be one of the most popular groups in the country - it was great watching these guys on stage interact not just with the audience but with each other and boy, did they have fun on stage as can be seen in many of the photos.
Their harmonies and musicianship on stage had the full house on their feet singing and dancing along to songs of yesteryear, songs that have stood the test of time.
On a personal note, there was no better way for me to spend the 11th anniversary of a massive heart attack than listening to some of the greatest music of my youth being performed by some of the best musicians we have in Australia - discovering live music here on the Gold Coast and rediscovering photography during my recovery process were two things that helped me after that life changing event.

Motley Brews Hopped Taco Throwdown @ Zappos HQ 8.12.2017
ORDER PRINTS HERE: www.smugmug.com/gallery/n-rVbkqS
From www.hoppedtaco.com:
"Tacos and craft beer triumphantly rejoice together in an all-inclusive culinary and beer experience created by Motley Brews. Twelve different chefs/restaurants who specialize in different cuisines will compete with one mission in mind: to step out of their culinary comfort zones and create the most amazing, inventive tacos you’ve ever tasted.
Hopped Taco Throwdown will occur at an event venue not often enjoyed by the public: the mystical Backyard at Zappos in Downtown Las Vegas. One of the core values at Zappos has always been to “Create a Little Fun With a Little Weirdness”… and we’re stoked to partner up and get a little weird with them AND you."

It's always a pain to get the mixer out of the cabinet, so I built a simple slide out tray using a set of full extension slides and some plywood.

This location opened in March 2012; it was originally a Long John Silver's, which was built in 1987, replacing the original building on site that opened in April 1973. The restaurant was converted to an A&W combo location in the early 2000s and closed in 2011.
Another view of the beautiful gardens high up in the hills at Crystal Castle. The rain had just cleared (except for a drop on my lens, obviously.. )
