Details:
A fungus, possibly Xylaria polymorpha (Dead Man's Fingers), engulfed by a bright yellow slime mold, possibly Physarium polycephalum.
How to make it: Two images taken with the cha-cha method (moving camera) were aligned and the gif was generated in stereophotomaker.

I took a short walk uptown after the largest gatherings had dispersed. I am interested in seeing these artworks in context, before the plywood is removed.
The bubble trail is dynamically framed, from bottom corner to 2/3 of the way up the opposite side, but high dynamic range in the scene precludes hand-held photography. Cropping to remove blown highlights reduces the linear impression of the bubble trail.

This modified Harris Shutter Effect (HSE) image of emphasizes differences between three sequential photos while turning static features black. The moving subject and moving camera introduced registration shift between successive images. Warping to align the walker caused his relatively stable feature to be dark while other objects became colorful.

Goal:
Generate an HDR image with realistic colors, if possible, using SNS-HDR lite or other freeware.
Method:
Four images, taken hand-held, were registered to compensate for camera movement.
Subsequent processing with SNS-HDR lite (freeware) shifted one frame or more, leading to a slight halo around the building. Another noted flaw was pixellation in some clouds. Auto tone correction (Lightroom) gave a realistic appearance to terrestrial elements while emphasizing the moody sky. Noise reduction (Noise Ninja) smoothed the image without enhancing Pixellation.
The rails have been pushed together by a falling tree.
History
In the early 19th century the Wetherill lead mine in Shannonville, PA (later renamed Audubon in honor of a famous former resident) provided lead for the production of paint. By the 1840s additional copper mining efforts opened a total of nine shafts including the New Perkiomen Mine, Whim Shaft, and the Ecton Mine. These veins were so promising that copper miners were imported from Cornwall, England to support the effort. Production diminished during the following decade culminating in the failure of the enterprise before the Civil War. All that remains above ground are scattered foundations, the smokestack from a facility that pumped water out of the mines, and a curious set of rails over the mine run stream.

Details
I am revisiting old JPGs while I have a trial license to use Topaz Clarity. Processing in Lightroom to straighten, correct white balance, correct distortion (Lightroom Distortion = -5 at this zoom), and crop. After auto tone correction the image was exported to Topaz clarity and processed with the "Street scene 1" parameters.

The Masonic temple in Atchison, KS was open for viewing one day in July. The main chamber has several stained glass windows and free standing Masonic themed pieces. The windows are not visible from outside nor are they lighted naturally due to protective exterior metal blinds, installed to protect them from breaking in high wind. This stained glass window was back lit with incandescent lights and front lit with fluorescent.
Utata's weekend project asks us to seek out public art in its diverse forms. The coins in one's pocket are often artistic, replete with symbolism, and designed for public consumption.
This dime from pocket change had prominent radial scratches, likely an artifact of the minting process, that seem to frame the central elements with rays.

I find it interesting that these symbols, chosen after the end of World War II, are not martial. (The preceding design, prepared before US entry into World War I, used a battle axe, or fasces, to represent unity. That symbol later was adopted by the National Fascist Party, became the basis of the term fascism, and thus needed to be removed to avoid confusion.)
Trivia: The coin's design, when introduced in 1946, was derided as honoring Joseph Stalin by detractors.
Technical Trivia
Lighting from all sides, highlighting detail edges, was possible with the dedicated LED light guide. Focus stacking sharpened details near the coin's edge. B&W conversion with Google's free Nik collection.

My added element: a toy that came "free" with a child's lunch. A giant piece of unrecyclable, unloved plastic that has no purpose but to inflate the price of the meal.
Found graffiti: Love is in the air. Selective blur in Aviary focuses attention on the detail, but makes the text appear added in photoshop.
This modified Harris Shutter Effect image emphasizes things that move and other differences between three sequential photos while turning the background black. A slow shutter speed and shallow focus were selected to blur the running child. Registration errors, due in part to different focus points giving different sized bokeh, leave ghostly outlines of some gym features.

Moving towards the water's edge one gets a better view of the river and the two bridges. Trees obscure all shore views. The structure appears largely intact to the casual observer.

I've driven past Aughwick Mills many times without considering anything might be there. I never realized that much of the railroad seen along route 522 is disused EBT track. Keller's guide indicates one of the earliest extant reinforced concrete bridges is there, dating to 1914. Some note it may be the first:

An off ice in Westerman hall, the Science building at Benedictine college, which has probably had visible stacks of books since it was built in the 1960s. The administration building across the yard is reflected in the glass.
I was inspired to try looking at my surroundings differently after viewing Tetsuo5's stream which is rich with extraordinary photos of the neighborhoods he visits.

Details
This modified Harris Shutter Effect image generates colored "ghosts" on a black background. Things that move and other differences between three more-or-less sequential photos are emphasized while static features turn black. The stationary subject moved so little that only weak traces remained in the subtractive filter Harris Shutter Effect (HSE) composite. A stacked image (integration Signal to Noise Reduction; SNR) was also prepared, then a blurry mask mask was used to combine the two images. This restored structure to a part of the image that was featureless after the subtractive filter.

While experimenting with a subtractive filter Harris shutter effect image I realized that the pale, yellow portion of the layer could be rendered as white in a monochrome image, giving an effect reminiscent of solarization.
Utata Stays Home project: Isolation Diary asks for a day to be documented. I took images on several days to capture the actual experience of one day.
The new normal requires enhanced safety precautions. I realize this is mostly for the benefit of my fellows in public, though I now consciously think about whether to touch my face.
I went to the post office this morning enroute to a grocer. About a third of the people were not wearing masks and a few of them seemed disgusted by folks considerate enough to protect them by doing so.
This reminds me of a dream I had early in the lockdown on a day when some noisy television panjandrume had suggested we should all get ill to speed herd immunity. That night I dreamed of individuals hugging their stoic loved ones goodbye - a weeping mother hugging her son, a tearful and turbaned Sikh hugging his WASPy girlfriend or daughter, a sad son hugging a father - before the person being hugged resolutely turned strode onto a just smouldering pyre and lay face down. This woke me up in the middle of the night. Once I realized I couldn't stop their metaphorical self immolation but could do something about contributing to it I found a way back to sleep.
The box containing all telephone and internet connections for a large apartment complex seems to have been left open after a recent repair. This may be intentional, as the vendor is trying to force all customers into higher profit fiber optic service. The last time we had a repair using similar service the technician told us "there is no need to replace lines - there are so many redundant ones left, after folks moved to fiber, that I can just swap the bad line for a good one. There should be enough to last until the service is terminated."
