I failed to notice the glare as I concentrated on the subject. Superimposed portraits seems like a Rorschach test.
The earth has receded from the edges of an original concrete rain gutter over the last century, or been removed when replacing the stairway and walk, making it seem like a raised pedestal or dish. Someone had placed this mushroom there, admired it, then wandered off and forgotten about it.
Contrast enhanced with a "Daidoish" preset (contrast 90+, clear view 50+, blacks -40 or less, color level adjustments and color filter added, tone curve adjusted to crush blacks and blow highlights)
I went to watch the sunrise and was surprised these bird dogs were very quiet, intently staring at a critter in the tree above (instead of barking at me).
Daylight white balance was used for most accurate color.

I took several images of this string of boxcars and stitched them together with the free version of autostitch. I like the result enough to share them.

Genus Hygrocybe is most likely, but species ID can be more difficult from just a photo. I used this guide to speculate:

There were many individual examples of this, widely dispersed along a 1.5km Great Lakes trail.
I recently learned that the diner car in downtown St. Paul closed during lockdown, and will likely never reopen - so I'm collecting memories of another old-timey spot Al's Breakfast by visiting and taking photos. It is cozy in a way modern building codes do not allow, forcing a sense of community on patrons who happily chat while awaiting their meals. I once heard former owner Doug Grina characterize it as a labor of love that is not as profitable as a larger establishment can be.

Note to self: I talked to a gentleman about cameras on this day, and recall him using a Contax T1. I re-examined the series and realize I want to aim for one, too. Unlike the later T2 and T3 models it has no onboard flash and is one of the smallest serious film cameras you can find.

These were found growing at the base of a sycamore maple (Acer pseudoplatinus) and had turned orange after two days. Some newer specimens were still changing and had a mottled red on orange appearance.

This modified Harris Shutter Effect image of Karate practice emphasizes things that move and other differences between three sequential photos while turning the background black.
I managed to get a very low shutter speed from this camera with ISO100 and high zoom. I collected a series of images, hoping to find interesting blurring.

An aging schizophyllum commune grows vertically from a fallen log in the Audubon sanctuary. Tom Volk's mushroom of the month (February, 2000) gives an interesting summary, including the existence of over 28,000 distinct sexes.
How to make it: Two images taken with the cha-cha method (moving camera) were aligned and the gif was generated in stereophotomaker.
Who needs an umbrella when laughing in the rain? I was looking for rain streaks against the dark back of the far fellow when this couple strolled into the frame.
Mary/Goldsardine's no longer curated effort Felt Life might have approved of this scene. The group was actively curated until about March, 2009. If you are curious what it was try looking here or earlier.

I hung an old album cover on the wall, using the hole punched in it when it was discounted for sale decades ago. I took an abused record from Goodwill, useless for little more than throwing as a Frisbee, and placed a flashlight on it to highlight the dust. These completely wrong uses of the media seemed suited for the title of Thelma Houston's Don't leave me this way.
Several images were captured using focus bracketing, then two were crudely composited to give this image.
The candles overpower the bluish fluorescent tonic ice.
Iron Photographer 207 dictates:
1 - something in ice (candles)
2 - a Roshambo item (paper napkin)
3 - shot on a (stone) counter top
The layers of water and tonic are not well resolved because they were grown too quickly. This allowed part of the sublayer to dissolve in the top layer before it froze.
Thursday morning began rainy and dreary. A camera wrapped in a plastic bag allowed soggy photos.
The day ended with a visit to the gym
Lightroom indicated the original was overexposed by 1/2 EV. The new RAW feature allows correction without degradation of the original.
He: Hey! Is that a film camera?
Me: Yes. It takes stereo images.
He: Alright!
Me: May I take your picture?
He: YEAH!

A solitary soul wanders the East BroadTop railroad (Mount Union, PA) on a warm day in March, pondering hoppers on the adjacent abandoned track. Local youths complain there is nothing to do in a small town...
B&W conversion mutes the brown tones throughout the image, strengthening details in the tracks and hopper cars.

This is the image (Harris shutter effect) Grizzly Classic hurdler after application of Tiltshiftmaker. Background features are defocused and bokeh enhanced, making them less distracting while helping focus on the central element.

This modified Harris Shutter Effect (HSE) image of emphasizes differences between three sequential photos while turning static features black. The moving camera introduced registration shift between successive images. Warping to align the stationary person caused her relatively stable features to be dark while other objects became colorful.

These images were taken during one of only two trips I made to Mount Union, PA. I went during the winter, when the trees and bushes are bare, affording the best view of these derelict cars. I found well-worn foot paths trodden in the leaf litter and followed them around the area. I saw several other people doing the same, so I hope it is OK to do so.
This is the other side of the boxcar in the previous image. My lack of familiarity with the manual mode on the camera (at this time) left me floundering with the autofocus in a field of trees. You may notice the foreground trees are in focus and stuff behind is not.
There was a problem exposing the cars correctly without blowing out the trees and sky, so I thought HDR treatment might help. I do not yet have a good idea how to optimize tone mapped photos the way I like it, so I continue to tinker with demo versions of various software packages. This was generated from three hand-held images (+1, 0, -1 EV) combined using Photomatix (demo mode) then cropped. No image optimization was attempted.
