Even if you come in a minute before closing, you will be served. School was closed due to morning cold (-24C/-11F) before windchill, so we waited until it had warmed a bit for a trip to Al's just before the 1:00 close.
Experimenting with a crispy Daidoish preset, based on Pantomic X film, in Silver EFX pro2 (crush blacks, blow highlights, work on the midtones).

In American sports a benched player is not participating in the game. These shoes were removed while practicing in the dojo.
This was an exercise in photographing a subject (shoe) from an obstructed perspective, necessitating imagining the camera's perspective while focusing and framing.

うまいこと盛り込めているといいな。
個人的に猫耳のもふもふ感が気に入っています。
I have received a subject from the usual member's space. This is what was offered.
"Macho / Animal ear / Serval cat / Brown skin / White teeth / Blonde / Window of Japanese Geisha house".
I hope the picture fits the theme.
I personally like the fluffy cat ears.

I walked through the Walker art center with a button I found laying beside the road. I was thinking about Iron Photographer 261 but neglected to incorporate a suitably regional element indicating Minnesota or Minneapolis rather than "at a printing experience". Here I paused at a children's printing/stamping/book making project.
Mixed media on composition board. I was thinking about how to colour the shadows so that nothing would really be white apart from the snow flakes. I think I'd like to blur these ever so slightly in the next version.

美人は多く存在する、多すぎて当然のような環境もある。
しかしながら、美しい脚となると、極端に少ない。
満足できるような美脚を、なかなか見ることができない。運よく現物に遭遇したら、幸運である。
顔面はバリエーションがありすぎて、短所の中にも長所がたくさんあるから、それでごまかしがきく。
ところが、脚は、なるほど美的なラインや質感が複雑にしても、一見、単純な形態である。顔のように、目も鼻も口も頬も顎も額も髪型すらない。
面と線がそのすべてである。だから、単純な素材で美を感じさせなければならない。それは、簡単なようだが、現実には非常に高いハードルがある

Contrast enhanced with a "Daidoish" preset (contrast increased, clear view increased, blacks decreased, tone curve adjusted to crush blacks and blow highlights)
Lake effect snow briefly fell heavily and, as it began to subside, there was sun shining through the flurries. Aiming towards the sun made the falling snow invisible against the bright sky while affording greatly compressed atmospheric perspective (distant objects brighter, lower contrast, less saturated).
The great room on the second floor of the Muchnic house is empty of (most) furniture, seeming purposeless except for play.

美しい脚線への欲求は、ヒトの心に宿る奥深い郷愁のようなものである。
こう考えてくると、美脚、美しい脚を、自らの肉体の一部として得るためには、どんな方法があるのかではなく、そもそも、脚線美が「ある」ものならば、それを人為的に、現出させたり変化させたりすることが、できるのかどうかを考えるべきである。

普通に太い太ももで、このような太ももは、珍しくはない。しかし、美しい。これは不思議なことである。特定個人の脚であるが、と同時に、普遍的美の具現でもある。 次ページにカラー作品を示した。
美脚,美しい脚,Fine Art,Kichijoji Sakuramakoto,： 脚よりも、後方の自転車にピントが合っているが、そんなことは全然気にしない。左ひざ下のバランスも変であるが、これもまた、かまわない。結局、被写体そのものが実在すれば、それでよい。
現代は、画像加工が流行っているようだが、私は、被写体そのものが美と考える。撮影表現は、被写体が写っていさえすれば必要十分である。なぜなら、それはそこにある、現実であるからだ。
誤解を招く危険を無視して、あえて言えば、ある種の性別無視の時期（お分かりだろう）、にのみ表出する人体美の極致（トーマス・マンが言うように）、の脚である。Light traces the outline of form, revealing texture and elegance.

The macro Monday challenge for 7-28-25 is Decay. I ran across a brick that was spalling off sizable chunks, due to a century of water damage, that had become home to a tiny plant. The zone in focus is smaller than 3 inches in each dimension, as you can judge below.
An inflated hot air balloon provides a cheap, colorful playground.
