Origami Kusudama (Maria Sinayskaya)

My attempt to adapt this model to a square - it works but not as nicely as from rectangles.
My new origami "reindeer" model (it does look like a mountain goat, so I may rename the model after Christmas ;-)

I folded the dancing origami Camellia with white glassine and also with Washi-paper to see what the difference would be. This origami Ice-Camellia remains flat ;-)). And the paper gives a different impression.

Am teaching myself origami on You Tube....fold- pause....fold- pause...even I can do it after trying to follow written instructions but never succeeding. Go to you tube and type in origami and heaps will come up..just click on the one you want. This flower was made one petal at a time. see preceding 2 posts.
An origami Pterandon Longiceps, designed and folded by me. It was folded from an 80x80cm sheet of single ply tissue paper using the following crease pattern:

You can choose between a 64x64 and a 128x128 version. The model shown here has been folded by sinking almost everything from the 64 version (making it *practically* a 128x128 model), since the bones ought to be much thinner relative to the body. The 128 version I haven't folded yet.
Origami Sonobe (Maria Sinayskaya)

Turns out you don't need corners or straight edges to fold geometrical models. There is plenty of stuff that can be folded from circles - sonobes, frames, flat or 3D stars. Of course, in the essence they will be the same models as we already have either from squares or rectangles, but still - the geometry of a circle is amazing! And while I'm having fun with it I will fold a few more:)

Ich bewundere seit langem die „box pleated miniatures“ von Roman Diaz. Er gibt Figur und Form der Tierwelt so treffend wieder und es ist soooo schwierig eine gute Abstraktion zu schaffen.
Designed and folded by me from 50 cm square sheet of tracing paper.
Final size : 20 cm
Just for fun...I wanted to see if I could make female faces ...It's HARD !! This model uses 48 grids. The face was the most difficult part. I also made the glasses/goggles on the head - they might not be visible.

-this is my first time painting paper and the result has a nice gold shine to it.
Designed and folded by me from a Single Uncut Square sheet of tracing paper (50x50 cm2)

I wish to make more like these...maybe origami can be used to explore themes like satire?

Designed and folded by me from an uncut single square sheet of 25 cm fluorescent paper ( 1 side black, 1 side white)
It took me 3 days to figure this out! It's my 2nd color change attempt, after the "Smoking Kills" design. I see the appeal of color changing now, still...I'll be sticking to tracing paper for now :P
I hope to make another version, with a smoother lid and a longer flap for the pedals (and more keys if possible). But till then..
