This is halfway folding the origami model "Clown Mask 2" by Hideo Komatsu and I encountered Darth Vader and his sweet love again........
Then start playing in photoshop and this is the result. Paper art transforming into almost drawn pictures. Which one you like more?

A gift from our son, who is actually not very skilled at handicrafts. Therefore, I appreciate it all the more that he knots his fingers for me.
Ein Geschenk meines Sohnes, der eigentlich in Sachen Basteln nicht so sehr bewandert ist. Daher weiß ich es um so mehr zu schätzen, dass er sich für mich die Finger dabei verknotet.

I bought some Origami Paper the other day and have made a couple of simple things. Plus have turned this into a colourful abstract for the Crazy Tuesday theme. HCT.
In memory of my Mum, who passed away 10 years ago. She loved colour and had a great eye for beauty.
I made a little present, two pairs of origami earrings, for my niece because she is having her birthday today. The first one you can see here above and is folded from one little square of Washi paper (4,5x4,5cm). The finished model size is 2,5cm.
It's a traditional origami model, called Tato. When you fold it bigger, you can put something inside.
You can see the other pair of earrings here.
Macro Mondays theme: Desk
I made this wee origami box about a year ago for the odd paper clip and it has been a handy receptacle for lots of tiny things on my desk. It is about 1.5" wide. I don't know if it has a designer -- I just started randomly folding a scrap of paper and this is what I ended up with.

Very simple origami decorations as far as origami goes. The beading makes them special and so do the lovely papers.
They are just 3 little 3inch squares of paper ... some gold thread... some pretty beads .. et voilá ..
.... origami ornaments for the tree.
Many years ago I bought a little ornament like this .. because I thought I should be able to make one. I couldn't figure it out for the life of me... so I took it apart. It took me 3 weeks to get it back together again. But, in the meantime, I measured, cut and folded some bits of paper in the same manner as I found when I took it apart..and, then...tried again and again to get things back together..not easy for several of them..but, I finally did it. Perseverance is my middle name.
Then, I got more creative and used beads on them..the original just had one little bead and a tiny empty bell like thingy.. they got more and more fancy and pretty... well, I think they did.
I used to use any pretty coloured paper I found... ads in magazines, tissue paper that I had to glue onto stiffer paper (til I got smart and learned to photocopy it onto regular paper ..duh)... and wrappings from chocolate boxes ..etc. Now, I just buy one large roll of great gold paper, a lovely silver, and I photo copy fabrics and papers to get pretty paper ..oh, and I also buy some called origami paper on occasion ... they cut theirs just a hair under the 3 inch size and so it is painstaking work to try to cut mine to "just the same hair under 3 inches" to match it or they don't work properly.
I love to make some each year ...and, I have a huge stash of lovely beads to use ...so haven't bought any of those for ages...
Gift Wrapping paper...not just for wrapping gifts.

I was going to make more but I need better paper..
This model belongs to a series inspired by the work of Shuzo Fujimoto. The outer edge is made with a general technique I devised that can be combined with different tessellation molecules located in the center. In particular, it can be combined with many of Fujimoto’s molecules (the one here is derived from CFW 88, Hemp Leaf), and hence the name “a la Fujimoto”. I don’t have a nice name for the technique yet, and I’m going to need one since this has recently been my favorite way of showcasing a single molecule of a hex-grid tessellation, and I’ve been using it a lot. The color change neatly separates the molecule from the background.
