My Mother was an Operator with Bell of Pennsylvania in the late 1950's and early 1960's. Here she is modeling a headset like the one she used then.
As an avid reader of 'Buses' magazine when young, one operator who intrigued me was the Moor-Dale Group from Newcastle.
It comprised three companies, these being Moor-Dale Coaches, Newcastle; Curtis of Dudley and R&M (Rochester & Marshall), Great Whittington.
Moor-Dale and Curtis seemed to operate contract, private hire and excursion & tours work while the rural R&M fleet was involved with stage carriage and schools work.
They all carried a common dark blue, red and white livery.
BBB 534V was a Bedford YLQ with Plaxton Supreme IV C45F coachwork and was one of fifteen new coaches delivered to the group for the 1980 season.
It is photographed in Blackpool around 1983.

I have no idea who was operating TEMSA MD9 PP18 BUS in Trafalgar Square on 6th May, 2026. It was new to Princess of Kendal and more recently operated for Ratho Coaches.
First North Western operated the North West Regional Railways franchise from March 1997 until 2004 - when this picture was taken (on 30 August) at that time the Windermere services transferred to First Transpennine Express. In this shot near Staveley, the train still carries First’s Northwestern Livery but there are blank spaces in the lining below the windows where the branding has been removed. 175111 forms the 1049 Manchester – Windermere.

Not many owner operators know there are no credit check semi trucks , tractor trailers, over the road truck financing opportunities available from dealers/lenders. These semi trucks are available like any other leases with approximately 12-15% due upfront as a down payment. This creates a tremendous buying opportunity for the owner operator with a good driving history but poor credit history. The dealer/lender is more interested in the owner operators references, personal and business, than his past credit.

The Wilson North is seen here with a load of bulk fertilizer originating from Heroya and which is being transferred into the hold of the Star Lima which will take it to Manzanillo, Mexico. The bulk cargo is being loaded using the Star Lima's crane.
