One of the best post-dereg operators was Jim Stones of Glazebury (though the depot was in Leigh) who ran a smart fleet of midibuses. One of the last was JB51BUS, that retains its cherished plate and livery, but was sold when the operation was wound down to Libra Travel of Chilcompton. It is seen in Frome.

Happier days at Docherty's the recently ceased operator and a very fine machine indeed. This Bedford VAL was always immaculately turned out and survived into the 1980s. It is seen here in typical impeccable order at the garage in 1975.

Swansea Bus Museum owns former SWT 447 (MCY 407), a Weymann rear entrance-bodied AEC Regent V, that turned 60 in November 2015. In fact, she was only the tenth Regent V to be built.
She was a member of a batch of 20 (440-59), with the first 10 being of highbridge design. Built with an open rear platform, 447 and three others subsequently received platform doors for use on Service 2 (Llanelli-Swansea), which probably contributed to her longevity.
After withdrawal by SWT in 1967, she operated for Whippet of Fenstanton and then spent several years with Oxfordshire operator Charlton-on-Otmoor Services. She initially entered preservation in the late 1970s and passed through three different owners and groups, one of which I was a member, before Swansea Bus Museum acquired her in 2010. A major restoration was undertaken by the Museum in 2015 in anticipation of her 60th birthday.
Looking resplendent, she is captured having just passed Barry Island Station when participating in the Barry Festival of Transport on 12th June 2016.
