Another window blind shot, this Mourning dove sits on an ice edge for a drink of water. The angular lotus stalks are from the summer's lotus plant. The water level is below the ice edge as more water is bound up in ice, the water level drops. The melting snow will probably raise the water level back as we have had two days with sunny skies and highs around freezing. The large ice crystals at the transition between ice and snow are quite large.

Cranking turn after turn in the open glade.
Sitting near the yard office at KCT's Mill Street Yard, what was once Kaw River Railroad's lone locomotive sits with the side latches open exposing the 8-cylinder EMD 645E prime mover in the belly of this almost 55-year-old switcher. For about a month now, WAMX 1702 has been sitting on the maintenance track while Watco crews diagnose and repair the issue with the fuel line assembly while also fixing minor issues while the new parts ship. In the meantime, the Kaw River Railroad has been borrowing a set of Kansas City Terminal end cabs over there for their switching operations.

Living in the city makes me forget how open Tx can be even around the suburban areas as it waits for more development.
I was impressed by the fact that pillows were placed on the bench! Just decor? Or meant to provide comfort? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

We stayed at a historic hotel in Moss Landing on the Pacific Ocean. Nearby we discovered a nice restaurant where we had a Cuban dinner. The restaurant is open "11 AM till closing" - the waitress told us they close when there are no longer guests. In attitude I can live with.
I took a photo with a 12mm ultra-wide fisheye lens, processed a balanced, a photographic and a paintery HDR photo from a RAW exposure, merged them selectively, and carefully adjusted the color balance and curves.

Allzu oft klemmt die Chose, lassen sich Schuhe nicht mehr öffnen, müssen entnervte Damen aus ihren fest verschlossenen Kleidern herausgeschnitten werden. Erst als sich Judsons Schwiegersohn Gideon Sundback, ein Ingenieur aus Schweden, der Sache annimmt, entsteht das noch heute gebräuchliche System des Stoffbandes mit Zähnen, die über einen Schieber geschlossen und geöffnet werden.
