This was my most memorable moment of the entire trip. The trail to Laguna de Los Tres was 10KM. After we set up the tent at Poincenot campsite, we climbed the final 1+KM steep section while the wind blew at gusts, it was very arduous. Around sunset, the sky was lit up and the clouds were flying as if Fitz Roy was on fire!!! I was stunned and didn't want to leave until the show was over. Of course hiking down in the dark was a bit painful. Slippery rocks, steep slopes, with not much vegetation to cling onto. My legs were trembling with each step…Believe or not, I went up again the next morning to watch a totally different show :)

from walt whitman: "Afoot and light-hearted I take to the open road // Healthy, free, the world before me // The long brown path before me leading wherever I choose."
where do you choose to travel today? what adventures await you? afoot and light-hearted, how can you see anew your everyday life?
This was my favourite lens in my youth. I certainly over use it then.
But, this is, surely, first time I shoot this close wide open.

A Lake State Railway northbound out of Bay City passes through Kawkawlin, MI behind two one-of-a-kind models on their roster, an HR-412 and C420. It was a bit warm for May and the crew may have left the door open for some air flow.

On a walk around the Christchurch Art Centre in December 2021. New Zealand.
The Arts Centre Te Matatiki Toi Ora is a hub for arts, culture, education, creativity and entrepreneurship in Christchurch, New Zealand. It is located in the Gothic Revival former Canterbury College (now the University of Canterbury), Christchurch Boys' High School and Christchurch Girls' High School buildings, many of which were designed by Benjamin Mountfort. The centre is a national landmark and taonga as it is home to New Zealand's largest collection of category one heritage buildings with 21 of the 23 buildings covered by Heritage New Zealand listings.
Standing abount 9" tall, the Eastern Screech Owl (Megascops asio) never had to deal with Zack Morris, but one can imagine that he would have held his own. Eastern screech owls can be found just about everywhere in the U.S. east of the Rocky Mountains, a line which seems to separate them from their Western Screech Owl cousins. Aside from some small visual differences, eastern and western screeches have distinct calls, and eastern screeches have a wide range of vocalizations... ranging from the telltale screeches to grunts, chirps, and the haunting trills that often accompany spooky movie soundtracks.
Often suburbanites--suburban birds will often outlive counterparts that reside in 'the wilds'--screech owls will readily nest in owl houses. This particular red morph nested within this box in Maumee Bay State Park. I have, myself, purchased an owl box that I'll be putting up this fall. After that, I'll be crossing my talons...er, fingers!
This is one of a series of photographs taken at the Syrian run restaurant, Soufi’s. The restaurant had to close because of internet hate mail and death threats. With the help of Paramount Fine Foods CEO Mohamed Fakih, it was able to reopen. Taken on the day Soufi’s reopened, this photograph is part of a photographic essay about love conquering hate.
