... another fun image with the vintage M42 Meyer-Optik Görlitz Oreston 50mm f/1.8 (wide open) to brighten up my busy days (and maybe yours, too)

You see the bokeh made by a Christmas pyramid shaped stall on the Christmas Market with rotating figures and "sails" and fairy lights ... you can get mulled wine there : ))

The bokeh is all done by this vintage lens wide open; no futher fiddling with it ! ; ))

Haven't been around much for the last few months between breaking my ankle and dealing with some family medical issues. Ankle is still healing, but I was fortunate enough to have a week long visit with my best friend this past week, so I took advantage of getting out to shoot some of my favorite scenes along with some new ones.

Always an instruction I associate with my dentist. In fact for many years my dentist had photos on his surgery ceiling of various animals with their mouths wide open and the statement 'Open Wide' written on the adjacent ceiling. That was a clear instruction for all.

Huddersfield Open Market was opened in the 1880's as the towns wholesale fruit and vegetable market until 1979 when it was closed for re-furbishment.

Plans have been submitted for a 16.5 million revamp to become a combined market and events space.

It has been raining for several weeks in Sydney. It seems to be open sky. It is still raining a lot so muddy water flows. I went there today morning.

Lived in Hertford 44 years and it’s the first time I’ve seen them open. The shop next to it is £Poundstretcher which was once Woolworths Store Maidenhead Street Hertford and I believe it was once a delivery access. This to me is a true urban landscape picture.

Sunset across golden fields.

I created this panorama from two 9-exposure HDR files captured with the D200. The HDR processed shot was used selectively over the places in the picture that needed an expanded dynamic range.

This is one of my later shots with the old D200 camera. By this time, I was really wringing every last bit of quality I could from the older sensor.

Open your eye that you may see

The beauty that around you lies,

The misty loveliness of the dawn,

The glowing colors of the skies;

The Child's bright eager eyes of blue,

The gnarled and wrinkled face of age,

The bird with crimson on his wing

Whose spirit never knew a cage;

The roadsides blooming goldenrod

So brave through summer's wind and heat,

The brook that rushes to the sea

With courage that naught may defeat.

Open your eyes that you may see

The wonder that around you lies;

It will enrich your every day

And make you glad and kind and wise.

Continuing on with fall scenes from the mountain west region, we start with another road trip, this time over Cottonwood Pass, 12,126 ft. This pass will take you over the continental divide to the towns of Crested Butte and Salida.

I begin here with The Comanche Drive-In, built in 1966... a historic family-owned drive-in theater located in Buena Vista, Colorado, offering a stunning view of the surrounding peaks at an elevation of 8000 ft.

It was nice to see an open window, for once. This is part of an office/restaurant complex. Hoping for more open windows and doors to come. Soon.

Stay well everyone, have a great Wednesday!

Every country has a certain amount of natural beauty. New Zealand just happens to have loads of it.

Better still, it’s not just concentrated in a few remote corners. The great scenery of our wide open spaces surrounds and inspires us, even in our biggest cities.

Living in the city makes me forget how open Tx can be even around the suburban areas as it waits for more development.

This stretch of road leads to a portion of Canyonlands National Park, south of Moab, Utah. Looks very lonely in this shot taken during early summer.
