Taken on a quick walk just outside of town this evening. A dear flickr friend, Chris Pevarnek kindly told me of this lovely location. Let's shoot here next spring Chris!

A bright cluster of hirsute White Pasqueflower (Pulsatilla occidentalis) welcomes its pollinators with open arms and promises of pollen, Manning Provincial Park, British Columbia.
Happy Easter to all - a time of year when we celebrate life, rejuvenation, fertility of nature and spirit, and promises of both plant and animal fecundity in the coming months. Of course, it feels a bit odd saying that as the snow continues to pile up outside, and the nighttime temperature is forecast to reach 15 ˚F. Methinks the fruit trees that leafed out over the past several days when temperatures approached 70 ˚F will be rewarded for their efforts with a pinching cold in bud and twig. It also feels odd thinking about life and rejuvenation in the midst of a pandemic. Odd though it may be, it is life and rejuvenation that will see us through, one way or the other...
one of the very common decorative metal gates covering entrances to businesses and residences in San Francisco. This seems to be a confusing message here...

It's 'Tern time' on the Central Coast. Thousands of Terns have returned and brought their just fledged babies with them. When a chick sees their parent flying in with a tasty fish, they plop down onto the water and open their beak wide to receive the incoming fish. So much fun to watch - but a challenge to capture!
Image taken in Colorado, USA, where there were no fences in this area, just open range. Thanks for the visits!
And now something completely different to my shots at the moment. No mushroom, no closeup. From my archive, token earlier this year.

Cranking turn after turn in the open glade.
This reminds me of the mindset: "when something isn't right anymore, leave it, there is always another way or open door.." You see the paint is peeled of and the light is coming in from another room.. new chances..
Sitting near the yard office at KCT's Mill Street Yard, what was once Kaw River Railroad's lone locomotive sits with the side latches open exposing the 8-cylinder EMD 645E prime mover in the belly of this almost 55-year-old switcher. For about a month now, WAMX 1702 has been sitting on the maintenance track while Watco crews diagnose and repair the issue with the fuel line assembly while also fixing minor issues while the new parts ship. In the meantime, the Kaw River Railroad has been borrowing a set of Kansas City Terminal end cabs over there for their switching operations.

We stayed at a historic hotel in Moss Landing on the Pacific Ocean. Nearby we discovered a nice restaurant where we had a Cuban dinner. The restaurant is open "11 AM till closing" - the waitress told us they close when there are no longer guests. In attitude I can live with.
I took a photo with a 12mm ultra-wide fisheye lens, processed a balanced, a photographic and a paintery HDR photo from a RAW exposure, merged them selectively, and carefully adjusted the color balance and curves.

I was impressed by the fact that pillows were placed on the bench! Just decor? Or meant to provide comfort? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Happy Window Wednesday!
