Seyðisfjörður is a remote fisherman village in the far east of Iceland. It is accessible by a mountain pass road that is open only in summer. We traveled by night to get good light for photography, and slept in the morning. We arrived at the picturesque town at around 3:30 in the early morning for sunrise. The center has a nice colorful footpath with shops on both sides. OPIÐ means open.

I processed a balanced, a paintery, and a photographic HDR photo from three RAW exposures, blended them selectively, and carefully adjusted the color balance and curves. I welcome and appreciate constructive comments.

This is the same flower as the closed one. I tried my best with my macro setting.

Today began the open streets New York program. Every Saturday during the month of August certain streets in the five boroughs will be closed to car traffic but open to bicycling walking, jogging, etc. This is a stretch of upper Broadway between 125th St. and 127th streets with the elevated train tracks that take the number one train down to South Ferry. It was a perfect day to be out exploring the neighborhood. I believe Broadway was open the entire length of Manhattan. It was very cool.

Taken in London for Window Wednesday. I was torn here whether to go black and white or colour (in comments) I like the warm glow of the lights in the shop but think mono works better as a street shot. HWW

Sheep, goats and donkeys grazing at a field of pasture. Nomadic pastoral groups are strongly dependent on natural resources in particular, water and vegetation. Southern Sinai Bedouin practice a policy of open grazing territories.

Taking this picture was more dangerous than you'd expect - it was windy and I was just below that chestnut tree, which kept throwing chestnuts at me!

The Petersham Open Gardens event was held on Sunday 18th May in aid of local charities from 11am to 5pm. Last entry 4.30.

Six gardens were all within easy walking distance around the village. Visitors could exchange their tickets for a clearly labelled map at several ticket desks located close to the gardens.

The scene you see in this photo was taken in Petersham Lodge

More about Petersham Lodge I found in Wikipedia and also here:

Petersham Lodge is the beautiful Grade II listed house on River Lane in Petersham. Once encompassed by Richmond Park, it now stands in its own grounds

Over the centuries, Petersham Lodge has passed through many owners, its look and lands changing through the years.

When Charles I created Richmond Park in the 1630s, the Lodge was then known as Old Petersham Manor and became incorporated into the park. The King appointed Lord Portland to be the Keeper and Lodowick Carlell as a Deputy, who took on the lease of the Lodge.

Carlell was a well-known playwright as well as courtier. He was married to Joan Palmer, possibly the first English woman to paint professionally and whose work, The Lady in the White Dress, hangs in The Tate.

Unlike many of their fellow Royalists, the Carlells came through the Restoration period unscathed. In 1663 Carlell surrendered his lease and sold his position as Deputy Keeper to Colonel Panton. The Lodge then remained empty for many years until James II appointed Laurence Hyde, first Earl of Rochester, as Keeper of Richmond Park, who acquired the house.

In 1721 disaster struck when Petersham Lodge caught fire and was totally burnt down. The Second Earl of Rochester and his son, the Earl of Essex and their wives managed to escape. His daughter, Lady Charlotte Hyde, only managed to flee the flames by tying sheets to the window bars and letting herself down. Sadly, one of the servants was killed when he jumped out of a top floor window.

Lord Rochester sold the lease, which was eventually acquired by William Stanhope, the first Earl of Harrington. He asked Lord Burlington to rebuild the Lodge in the then popular Palladian style, which is more or less as we see it today. Lord Burlington’s most famous work was architect of his villa, Chiswick House.

Sometime in the late 18th century, permission was given to change the boundaries so that Petersham Lodge was situated outside the walls of Richmond Park. The lease was then sold to Thomas Pitt, Lord Camelford, in 1780, who instructed John Soane to remodel the interior of the house. He also introduced Soane to his cousin William Pitt, the future Prime Minister, which led to Soane being appointed the architect to the Bank of England.

This house again passed through many hands until 1987, when Prince Rupert Lowenstein, the financial manager of the Rolling Stones, bought it. He lived there until his death in 2014, but the house is still owned by his widow, Princess Lowenstein, who used to be friends with Princess Margaret and still holidays in Mustique.

Changing room at Walchsee in Bavaria

A few days ago while out on a local back road I discovered a European Starling nest with two hungry chicks hanging out and begging to be fed. I was able to observe their behavior for two mornings. Whenever the parent approached the nest both little ones would become very excited and open their brightly colored beaks. This bright 'gape' and the wide open mouth serves as a visual cue to encourage the parent to feed them.

Thanks for taking time to comment, fave and look at my work. I really appreciate.

The view from the suspension bridge. The water really carved out the rock!
