There's a car park either side, but the smaller of the two on the right has been used as extra outdoor space.
The original pub on the site was a large detached house bought by the brewery chain in 1920. It had a Saloon bar one side and a Public bar the other. Between the two was a door leading to the bar which was used as an off-licence.
The present building was built on the site in the 1980s and given a refresh about a decade ago.
I see you from the distance
From beyond the fence you made
Hiding all your feelings
Behind your barricade
Oh have you been invaded
Is this the reason why you hide
I know just how you're feeling
I know-let me inside
Open the gate up
Open the gate up-hurry
Open the gate up-hurry
I want to get near you
But you just won't let me in
'Cause you're so scared of losing
Everything you've got within
No Doubt

Back in August I found some walnuts on the ground beneath a walnut tree. I've let them mature in the garage and after removing the green pulpy outer layer, I cracked one open today to see what was inside. Surprise surprise, a walnut!!
A closed potato flower, or more accurately a not yet opened one. This bud is about 5mm in size
Thanks for stopping
This is another fence that has an open side. I’m sure they train the horses or cows not to go out of the yard. Otherwise, the fence would be useless.
It's fun to watch a "draw bridge" in operation (unless you are in a hurry, and stuck in the auto traffic waiting for the bridge to re-open).
The Charlevoix Bridge, a 1948 bascule bridge, replaced an earlier bridge over the Pine River in downtown Charlevoix, Michigan. The Pine River Canal, dredged in 1870, connected Lake Michigan and Lake Charlevoix. Boat traffic using the canal first enters Round Lake, a popular Charlevoix harbor, before entering Lake Charlevoix.
The large boat in the picture is the "Beaver Islander", a ferry boat to Beaver Island. The smaller boat, "Heather B" is a towing vessel.
