My Leica M2 has been seeing a lot less action of late, in part because I have been experimenting with instant film. This camera was purchased in 2010, but manufactured ca. 1961. It is a fully manual camera, and the little honeycomb-like structure at the top is the add-on meter, which couples to the shutter speed knob for exposure calculation. When I first got the camera, it was in pretty good cosmetic shape, but little did I know that the camera had severe pinhole problems that required 3 trips to the repairman (not to mention the couple of hundred bucks it set me back). It is by far the most expensive film camera I own, but is well worth the money given that it's a Leica, with great mechanical performance.

Lens: 116mm, f/11, Single-element plastic, with sliding close-up attachment. Fixed-focus (sharpest at 4-5 feet).
Electronic shutter; automatic speed between 1/4-1/200 sec.
Integral auto flash that works in low light but cannot be forced on or off.
Polaroid’s Light Management System (the darken/lighten exposure correction slider)

Actually, I found him on Christmas Day and took this photo because his clothes absolutely matched the atmosphere and he looked warm in the snow.

Manual editing: Ice cubes to cool the polaroi followed by hairdryer to heat the polaroid and, uhm, re-darken the tones.

Overcome with nostalgia (old news), driven to re-scan all of my old prints. My last post was my first shot with the new Impossible film and now this: my first ever Polaroid. The print is at least 14 years old, taken in 2006 with a camera inherited from my grandfather and film past 10 years expired.
