Saw this awesome sign on a little trip to spend some time with family. Seems like I've had good luck finding cool old gas company signs on these trips to Grand Lake. I didn't realize this week was Polaroid week, so I'm glad I happened to have brought mine!

we got two cords of wood delivered to finish out this rainy season and to take us into the next. the wood stove is our only source of heat except for some portable heaters in really cold areas in the house during the winter.

leon has been stacking for days. I helped him with 2 cart loads, into the cart and then onto the wood pile. it hurts my back, but I can do a little at a time. it's good for me.

To continue and recap, I recently repotted and did a little wiring on my "in training" Atlas Cedar (Cedris atlantica).

I photographed it on three different instant films, here then is the second of the three. This time on SX70 BW film, with the SX70 OneStep Rainbow camera.

Sunset was so good last night I had to run out in front of the store and grab a quick Polaroid. Happy to say it seems like the conversion I did is holding up to tough metering situations and everything! Also, this photo was made with great light, a camera, and some action.

If you like the effect here, I have a tip. Immediately after film ejects, shield from light in back pocket of blue jeans. Then (don't wait too long) bend over to pick up dog poop. That's what worked for me.

I'm testing out the conversion of my Pronto Sonar OneStep to i-Type film and wound up with some photos I actually like! Super glad that the conversion went well. This camera was a daunting one to work on.

I can never resist a photo of a nice trail with a curve, lol. I hope I get to where I'm able to spend a lot more time hiking this year. Cameras and hiking are about the best hobby match there is, haha.

This was in Hobb's State Park, on the Sinking Stream trail. For some reason we never did much hiking there until last year. I think I must've just figured it wouldn't be as interesting for some reason. It's been fun to go there and experience some new trails. So far they've all been pretty mild, and some trails have more to look at than others.

In the areas around NW Arkansas, SW Missouri, and NE Oklahoma, do you have a favorite hiking trail? I think my favorite so far is the fire tower loop in Roaring River State Park, MO. It's a bit of a physical challenge to do the whole thing, in terms of elevation gains and distance. The views are excellent, at least in the cooler seasons (I need to see what it's like during summer and fall, still!). It's also not a terribly far drive from my part of Arkansas.
