Polaroid type 600, SX-70 Sonar Onestep
This is an older shot from before when I didn't have an ND filter - considering it was taken in bright sunlight, it's doing alright for overexposure...
Tenancy is nearly up at B Flat and so having to put stuff into boxes yet again and move home, only that space (home) gets smaller and smaller these days. Walls are caving in sometimes. In my madness of collecting cameras in my old place which I then use once and then cannot maintain using, it has led to being bogged down with much stuff, antiquities and more stuff. So I am getting rid of a few cameras. Amongst other things.

One last B for FILM26. Had to try out the new Polaroid One-Step and my first pack of Impossible Project film
OK... my Polaroid friends out there. I need some insight. I'm getting this stripe down the center, some have the area where there is no image (brown) and the colors are a bit wacky. I did sheild some as they came from the camera and some not - like not this one. Does sticking it a pocket really fast count for sheilding and setting it face down? Is the brown area a function of the film? the camera? the operator? or some combo? Any helpful insight into the world of Polaroid would be greatly appreciated. This is my first pack of PX600 Colorshade. It took almost all day to fully develope - is that the norm?

Mangels analoger Tätigkeit (mein Labor hat zu) hab ich mal in meiner Foto-Rumpelkammer gestöbert. Und da habe ich doch sage und schreibe vier Sofortbildkameras entdeckt, die ich noch garnicht fotografiert hatte. Die werde ich jetzt nach und nach hier vorstellen.
Ich fang mal mit der Polaroid 1000 S an. Sie war die schwarze Version der Polaroid 1000, die Ende der 70er Jahre auf den Markt kam. Sie war gedacht als preisgünstige Alternative zur teuren Polaroid-SLR SX 70.
Die Polaroid 1000 ist ein recht einfacher Fotoapparat: Die Optik ist ein Fixfokus-Objektiv mit der Brennweite 103 mm und der Lichtstärke 14,6. Die Belichtungszeit variiert von 1 Sekunde bis 1/150 Sekunde. Mit dem schwarzen Drehknopf (in dem die Belichtungsmesser-Zelle versteckt ist) kann man in Maßen in die Belichtung eingreifen.
In den USA hieß die Kamera OneStep, in Europa wurde sie auch von Foto-Quelle als Revue 1001 vertrieben.
Blitzen konnte man auch damit: Entweder mit einer Blitzbirnchen-Leiste, der Flashbar, oder mit dem passenden Elektronenblitz Polatronic 1.
Der passende SX70-Film wird wieder von der neugegründeten Polaroid (vorher Impossible) hergestellt, die auch ein paar refurbished vintage Polaroid cameras anbietet.
Man kann auch den 600er Film von Polaroid verwenden. Der ist allerdings viermal empfindlicher, so dass man ein ND-Filter vor das Objektiv setzen muss, um weniger Licht durchzulassen.
Here's my recently aquired SX-70. The gold disk on the front is the sonar sensor it uses for focussing (which for some reason I find rad).
I also got some film from The Impossible Project. It was rather expensive and none of the shots turned out very well. Several were completely messed up and the remaining ones were really overexposed. I'm hoping the rollers just need cleaning up.

One of the close to modern Polaroid Cameras produced by the original company that has that classic Type-600 Clamshell design! Not to mention modern enough to be still running after a decade or two.
