the beauty behind film photography for me is its lack of certainty. i was posed, ready to take a planned out long exposure shot of a freeway, but as soon as i pressed the shutter release the film got jammed in the camera. it was a dumb error i made, but without a doubt the best shot i took that night.

44/365, My first shot taken with my new-to-me Polaroid SX70 OneStep, courtesy of The Impossible Project! I'm so excited that it turned out beautifully and that Major was so obliging to model so well too! I can't way enough about how great it feels to be so well-cared for and looked after by Impossible. I didn't even need to send them my address...they knew who I was and sent me the best care package and Valentine's Day gift ever! How lucky am I?!!!

Well.... to be honest, this is the popular beach among the people who are living in Australia. The sand is so gold and sky is so blue. I really love this beach. Anyway, this time was the beginning of spring, so the water was still cold, but it was a great opportunity to soak my legs in the water as a photographer.

Une écharde, un clou, c'est la fièvre qui monte

C'est tout ce qu'on attend, c'est tout ce qui nous reste
C'est du bois, c'est un jour le bout du quai
Un alcool trafiqué, le chemin le plus court
C'est le cri d'un hibou, un corps ensommeillé
La voiture rouillée, c'est la boue, c'est la boue
Un pas, un pont, un crapaud qui croasse

A step, a stone, an unfolding path
What is left of a root, feels a bit lonely
It's a glass splinter, it's life, it's the sun
It's death, it's the sleep, it's a half-open trap
A one thousand year old tree, a knot in the wood
It's a barking dog, it's a bird in the air
It's a rotting trunk, it's the thawing snow
The deep mystery, the promise of life
It's the wind's breath on top of the hills
It's an old ruin, the emptiness, the void
It's the chattering magpie/chatterbox, it's the downpour pouring
Joyful streams down, it's the waters of Mars
It's the confidently and slow-paced foot that is walking on
It's the stretching out hand, it's the cast away stone
It's a hole in the ground, an unfolding path
