i guess this is RIGHT in the middle! 365 divided by 2 is 182.5.
so this is where i am halfway through.
well, at least i'm eating fresh foods :)
but really. how great is local, fresh food? it's been a joy to live in durham for SO many reasons. but one specifically is that when i go to the grocery store i feel closer to where my food came from than anywhere else i've ever lived.
granted, i've been on foodstamps and am able to buy whole foods as often as i can, and i'm shopping for only a few large meals a week.
but it's true, chopping, trying foods together, and letting other people sample the bounty is really the best thing.
i don't have a song for today.
these have been a few days of trial. but i am sure that good things are coming. a few weeks until i am done with my year of americorps! which is amazing....
sadly that may also mean i will be done with food stamps...:) maybe i'll have to find new ways to get fresh foods.
planning on joining a CSA soon.

The itchy rash in his right armpit that troubled Kevin during Chicon 8 finally shows signs of fading away.
Canicula!, the multidisciplinary show produced by our partner, Teatro Taller Tegucigalpa, ended its first tour the week of December 7, 2009, after putting on 85 shows in the villages of Valle, Choluteca and Nacaome, located in southwest Honduras. In all, more than 10,000 people attended this show that raises awareness of the issues related to drought and water shortages and how to better manage the water supply. As of January 2010, the second show has been put together that highlights healthiness.
this was in rolling stone today.
i get really sick of this country sometimes. i am fully convinced politicians don’t actually understand what weed is, just that it has the false reputation of being “bad”.
this article is all about how the obama administration is cracking down on millions of legal marijuana dispensaries and taking medical cards away from terminally ill patients. i am angered by the mere fact that anyone even considers marijuana a drug much less having the nerve to take it away from suffering people who may die any day.
i am so sick of the lack of knowledge from the people that are supposed to know the most.
Had to stop and take a few more shots of these guys this morning. Finally got a few sharp enough for a closer crop.
