Day 2 of life as a miniature van driver.

I feel like I need a business logo on the side of this thing.

Or a Sunday paper route.

October and a beautiful cold misty morning at one of my regular locations near Lockerbie.

Missing october already, Just a cute photo I did with minimal edits

A tiny 4" tall gorse seedling, valiantly flowering on top of Slieve Coillte today (best viewed large). For Saturday self-challenge theme "ant's eye view". I've never noticed ants up here but I assume they must be present in the habitat.

There's an old saying; "when gorse is out of blossom, kissing's out of fashion". I am once again endeavouring to photograph Irish gorse in flower every month of the year & it seems finally this year will be my year. I woke up in a panic today realising I hadn't taken October's photo. I was hoping the dwarf gorse on the summit of Slieve Coillte was still in flower & thankfully it was - phew!

We have 2 species of gorse in Ireland; Ulex europaeus (Common gorse) which flowers in hedgerows from late autumn through to late spring, generally tailing off in June, and Ulex gallii (Western or dwarf gorse) which typically flowers in late summer, alongside heather, on mountainsides as is the case here. No coconut smell to these flowers.

It is October 14th in Ontario ( OK everywhere) and most wildflowers are brown and spent but this Bumble bee found some still available to harvest.

Beautiful autumn sunrise, this morning.

What a surprise!

This is the first time that these specific succulent plants flowers.

From my garden and planted in a pot.

And what a beautiful flower it is! Its quite large, about the size of my hand.

Back road Chesterville, Maine beauty on a rainy October day.

The leaves are maturing turning the colors of fall. Soon, the plants will be defoliated leaving only the white cotton to mature. Thanks for the visit and have a great week.

"I am yours" by Tracy Chapman ...<3

"Have been betrayed

I stand before you

My hands are empty

I am yours

If you are mine

When I fall and stumble

Flat on my face

When I'm shamed and humbled

In disgrace

I am yours

If you are mine

When voices call me

To question my faith

When misperception

Taints my love with hate

I am yours

If you are mine

When time decides

It won't stop for me

When the hawks and vultures

Are circling

I am yours

If you are mine"

This is the first photo of a new project where I want to take a self portrait for all twelve months of a year. I hope it'll help me to reflect on every month as it passes and take a photo that represents them and also myself as I change along the way.

This was my october:

- spent the first five days with my friend Lisa in Berlin

- ignored what I had planned on doing back home

- worked quite a lot and enjoyed my free days

- spent a lovely afternoon with Seb when I thought I didn't have any plans

- had a fun “blue monday” night with my friends

- sprained my ankle and therefore couldn't do any sports

- noticed that our ideas for meetups run short

- became better friends with Julian

- was so ready and it still didn't find me

- spent a great night and day with Chrisse, Nina and Julian in Stuttgart

- made birthday presents for two of my best friends

- went to bed earlier and got up earlier for once

- rediscovered my love for photography

- got over the feeling of missing out on autumn

- found the most beautiful of places

- realized that things are so unsteady

Another rainy autumn day.

Hope everyone is doing well and staying safe.

Tonight's sunset. The cool fall air and moderate humidity have made for some beautiful colors in the evening skies. N.B.: NO PhotoShop enhancements. The only editing done to this shot is a bit of cropping. View On Black

An October night in Möllstorp. We are still seeing a lot of green but some of the trees have now turned yellow. A few persevering crickets were still playing by the side of the road.

there is a version with less flare but I like this one :)

Anyone else excited for October? No? oh kay.....

I'm really excited for Catching Fire, (hePeetahe) House of Hades, (TOMORROW!) Alliegent, and really anything. And lots and lots of rain ohmaiunicornsoh<3

I miss having the rain, the heat is really driving me crazy, especially as I'm a Seattleite. :3 Its strange how people who don't live/use to Seattle shiver in the cold, while the entire area is all about leggings and short sleeves. xD

Are you excited for any releases this year?

I will be off for a week, autumn vacation. See you in October!

Ich bin eine Woche im Herbsturlaub, wir sehen uns im Oktober!

la vista from the terrace into the garden

this Autumn the colours of the changing leave trees are incredibly more vivid.

One of my favorite places to explore in October is Washington State's Eastern Cascade Foothills. This image is from a couple of years ago when the colors were at their peak near the Leavenworth area. I decided to be adventurous that day and take an unknown long, rough dirt road about 10 miles down until I came across this scene. The sound of a nearby stream was so serene. The trees were so vibrant and beautiful I had to just sit there in my car and stare out the window for a while. I hadn't seen Fall color like that since I was a teenager living in Ohio. It was really quite striking and reminded me of a painting. I longed to have the skill or materials to paint the view in front of me, but decided to do what I thought to be the second best option and took out my camera.

This place to me defines October's lovely, cool, vibrant embrace and everything I love about it.

No snowflakes yet:)

Golden light enlighted that October sky in the sunset... and the clouds seemed to me a precious embroidery : )

The Newlands horseshoe, Lake District, Cumbria, England

Days of toil in an autumn sun, among the autumn leaves, and your bones grow weary and your skin goes dry and all you need is a change of scenery. To go across state lines. There, the colors will be enough to sustain you until you move on your way again.

So what are you still doing here, son?

Make like the rivers and run.

pumpkin on a stump ... texture by pareeerica

I went for a walk a few days ago later in the afternoon and was blinded by the light at nearly every turn. In this particular neighborhood people seem to understand that, and have planted big clumps of bright yellow coreopsis around every old tree stump, sign and even one big sidewalk crack. It's like a thousand suns greeting you at every corner. And I love how busy the bees are, taking advantage of these last warm weeks.
