October is Breast Cancer Awarness Month. Wear your pink, party in pink, host a party in pink, DONATE for pink. I am a survior! Still have many friends dealing with Cancer. We can all do something to raise money for this very important cause. I annually host a Party (tickets for sale) Everything is pink, and I mean everything. Party in 2 weeks. Last yr. we raised $6,500.00

Woman are NOT the only ones to suffer from Breast Cancer. Men as well suffer but silently. Most are ashamed. NEVER be ashamed. The more men are aware the more they to will get checked and may prevent. We all need to do our part.

A set of small wings that I photographed using the 105mm macro lens. I colour toned it slightly to have a pink appearance specifically for October for Woman and breast cancer awareness.

Bit of a drab day today so I figured I may as well set up another quick still life / flat lay for my photo.

Hope everyone is doing well and staying safe.

October is the tenth month of the year in the Gregorian Calendar and one of seven Gregorian months with a length of 31 days. The eighth month in the old Roman calendar, October retained its name (from the Latin "octo" meaning "eight") after July and August, after Julius and Augustus Caesar respectively; when the calendar was originally created by the Romans.

October is commonly associated with the season of autumn in the Northern hemisphere and spring in the Southern hemisphere, where it is the seasonal equivalent to April in the Northern hemisphere and vice versa.

In common years January starts on the same day of the week as October, but no other month starts on the same day of the week as October in leap years.

October's flower is the Calendula with its birthstone being the Opal. The meaning of the Opal is Hope.

The hunt for red october ...

И с каждой осенью я расцветаю вновь;

Здоровью моему полезен русской холод;

К привычкам бытия вновь чувствую любовь:

Чредой слетает сон, чредой находит голод;

Легко и радостно играет в сердце кровь,

Желания кипят — я снова счастлив, молод,

Я снова жизни полн — таков мой организм,

Извольте мне простить ненужный прозаизм.

One year ago the doctors found out that I had cancer and I had been having it for 10 years and today I am cured, I am a two times survivor and for that I am very happy and thankful ... :-D October is the month of breast cancer awareness in Iceland :)

"My gift to you"

It's cold and threatening to rain here today, so I decided to avoid layering up and stuck in the house today, which meant it was either another photo of Fyero (she declined to pose) or another coffee and leaf flat lay.

I should probably set up a series or albums for these photos, I feel like I'm always falling back on coffee and leaves.

Side note - is the 'new and improved' (how can something be new and improved? Isn't it either new or it's improved?? Sorry, mini rant done.) notifications page acting wonky for anyone else? It's telling me I have no new notifications, and yet there's comments and activities on my photos. I've noticed I'm missing a lot of notifications with the new method, just wondering if I'm alone in this madness.

Hope everyone is doing well and staying safe.

barely transcending the threshold of autumn.

The maple is turning yellow to orange, to red,

soon to be bared by winter."
