Day 1 - Saturday, September 16, 2017 - 28th Annual Chalk Festival Cleveland Museum of Art.
Children and adults enjoy this annual event where community members join professional artists in using the walkways around the Fine Arts Garden as a colorful canvas. Begun in 1990, Cleveland Museum of Art's festival is a modern expression of a Renaissance tradition from 16th-century Italy in which beggars copied paintings of the Madonna by Raphael and his contemporaries, using chalk on the plazas outside cathedrals.

The Hundred of Cotton was declared in 1894 but no surveying took place until 1904. Farming land was sold in 1905 with nearest town to be Parrakie on the Pinnaroo railway. In 1913 the local Methodists decided to build a church to be used as a state school. This floundered. Later that year the locals decided to build a public hall which could be used for church services and would have financial support from all denominations. A farmer donated some land for it. The hall opened late in 1913. The Hundred of Cotton School opened in the hall in January 1914. The school closed in 1945 with the opening of Lameroo Area School. The hall was enlarged in 1928 and the old hall was demolished in 1960 and a new Besser block hall built. Almost since its inception the hall was used for Methodist Church services and from 1939 the hall was the regular venue of the CWA. Prior to that the Women’s Agricultural Bureau had met in the hall. The new hall was still being used by the CWA and the Uniting Church in the 1980s. The adjacent tennis courts were established in 1927 and in 1973 a small Besser block club room was erected. The courts are clearly no longer in use.

Church of the Immaculate Conception.
The central church in Antibes was first built in the 11th century with stones used from earlier Roman structures. Its current façade was constructed in the 18th century and blends Latin classical symmetry and religious fantasy. The interior houses some impressive pieces such as a Baroque altarpiece and life-sized wooden carving of Christ's death from 1447.

The purpose of the Book Week Celebration is to encourage students to become readers through fun and engaging activities that motivates students to appreciate the different kinds of literature the world has to offer - from epic novels to simple newspaper comics. A child who reads will become an creative adult who thinks.
To kick off the opening of the SFAMSC Book Week is a mini parade where the preschool, grade school, and some intermediate and high school student wear their costumes of their favourite literary and comic characters.
STATE OPENING OF PARLIAMENT
10 MAY 2022
In a rare occurrence the new session of Parliament was opened by the Prince of Wales, who read the Queen’s Speech, in place of Queen Elizabeth II who did not attend due to ill health. The ceremony was unchanged in Parliament but was curtailed outside Parliament. The Prince of Wales and the Duke of Cambridge travelled by car, rather than horse crawn carriage, with no escort by the Household Cavalry and there were no troops lining the route from Buckingham Palace to the Houses of Parliament. Similarly, the Royal Regalia were taken to Parliament by car with no military escort. However unusually,, a Guard of Honour was mounted by the Household Cavalry on Horse Guards Parade.
Extract from the Court Circular:
“The Prince of Wales and The Duke of Cambridge, acting in their capacity as Counsellors of State for The Queen, accompanied by The Duchess of Cornwall, travelled to the Palace of Westminster this morning to open the Session of Parliament and were received at the Sovereign's Entrance by the Marquess of Cholmondeley (Lord Great Chamberlain) and the Duke of Norfolk (Earl Marshal).
The Queen's Guard was found by 1st Battalion Coldstream Guards, under the command of Major Henry Greeves, and a Guard of Honour was mounted at the Palace of Westminster by 1st Battalion Coldstream Guards with The State Colour, under the command of Major Robert Philp.
A staircase party of The Household Cavalry was on duty at Victoria Tower, House of Lords, under the command of Captain Mark Quickfield.
Royal Salutes were fired in Hyde Park by The King's Troop Royal Horse Artillery, under the command of Captain Amy Cooper, and from the Tower of London Saluting Battery by the Honourable Artillery Company, under the command of Lieutenant Colonel Adam Bate.
The Imperial State Crown, the Cap of Maintenance and the Sword of State were conveyed previously to the House of Lords.
Her Majesty's Body Guard of the Honourable Corps of Gentlemen at Arms was on duty in the Prince's Chamber and the Queen's Body Guard of the Yeomen of the Guard was on duty in the Royal Gallery.
The Ladies and Gentlemen of the Household were in attendance at the Palace of Westminster.”

209 of 365 - Lillie and Lance
These adorable little kids are 2 of Cindy's cousin's children. I remember holding Lillie when she was just a new baby and now she is full of it, running around, screaming, raising Cain and exploring this world with all the innocence allowable. Her cousin Lance seems to be very good with her and was holding her up to get her photo through the German cutout in Old World in HB yesterday. Some day I will get a photo shoot with Lille and/or Lance and will have them added to my portfolio.
