My first stranger who's name I heard but by now have forgotten.
Purists of the 100 Strangers project recommend you have to have some sort of dialogue with the person and find out more about them.
Me, I want them to remain strangers and the less known the better.

"Maserati Ghibli is the name of three different cars produced by Italian manufacturer Maserati: the AM115, a V8 grand tourer from 1966 to 1973; the AM336, a V6 twin-turbo coupé from 1992 to 1997; and the M157, an executive saloon from 2013 on.
Ghibli is the name for the hot dry south-westerly wind of the Libyan desert."

"The original Ghibli (Tipo AM115) is a two-door, 2+2 V8-engined grand tourer.
American magazine Sports Car International named it number nine on its list of Top Sports Cars of the 1960s.
The Ghibli was first unveiled as a 2-seater prototype at the November 1966 Turin Motor Show.
Its steel body, characterized by a low, shark-shaped nose, was designed by a young Giorgetto Giugiaro, then working at Ghia. The car featured pop-up headlamps, leather front sport seats and alloy wheels. Two rear seats consisting of nothing more than a cushion without a backrest were added to the production run, allowing the Ghibli to be marketed as a 2-door 2+2 fastback coupé. Deliveries started in March 1967.
The car was powered by a front placed quad-cam 4.7 L, 310 PS (228 kW; 306 bhp) dry sump V8 engine mated to a five-speed manual, with a three-speed automatic optional. It had a 0-60 mph time of 6.8 seconds, a top speed of 250 km/h (155 mph).
The 2-seat Ghibli Spyder went into production in 1969.
The Ghibli SS was released in 1969.
In all, 1,170 coupés and 125 Spyders (including 25 Spyder SS) were produced. The Ghibli went out of production in 1973; it was succeeded the following year by the Bertone-designed Khamsin."

The address of the new Council offices in Rochdale. Still under preparation - the interior is looking good, but the pleasant garden area yet to be tidied - as you see here!
Riverside? For those who know Rochdale; we have the widest bridge in the world. These offices are at a point where the river disappears under the town centre and flows for half a mile, emerging the other side just beyond the town hall.
It was covered over a hundred years ago because of the stink; now cleaner, there are plans to uncover it again.
The Postcard
A postcard bearing no publisher's name which was posted in West Kensington on Thursday the 9th. September 1909 to:
Mr. H. Hollies,
11, Slater Street,
Ottawa,
Ontario,
Canada.
The message on the other side of the card was as follows:
"80, Winford Gardens,
West Kensington,
London.
My Dearest Brother,
Just a little view of our
house; it will remind
you of old times.
Hope you will get letter
safely.
Love Fran".
Google Street View reveals that the house looks very similar today, except that the railings have been replaced by a low wall, the bay windows have been replaced with double-glazed units, and the upper front door panels have been replaced with glass.

Well, on the 9th. September 1909, the 1,600-foot-long (490 m) Santa Monica Pier opened to the public in Santa Monica, California.
E.H. Harriman
The day was not a good one for E.H. Harriman, American railroad magnate, because he died aged 61 on that day.

The number of Trucks, Vans* and Special Purpose Vehicles (Light, Medium & Heavy) registered + licenced in Hong Kong seems to fluctuate between 120,000 - 125,000 vehicles and presumably new trucks registered are offset by old trucks being retired or sold over the border in China.
*Vans are classified as Light Goods Vehicles and are not shown in this album
In Hong Kong Trucks are classified as GOODS VEHICLES By the Transport Department - see below
☛Light Goods Vehicles - Goods vehicles of permitted gross vehicle weight not exceeding 5.5 tonnes.
☛Medium Goods Vehicles - Goods vehicles of permitted gross vehicle weight exceeding 5.5 tonnes but not exceeding 24 tonnes.
☛Heavy Goods Vehicles - Goods vehicles of permitted gross vehicle weight exceeding 24 tonnes but not exceeding 38 tonnes.
The major truck types you tend to see in urban areas are trucks carrying construction materials or waste, dump trucks, concrete mixers and all sizes of delivery trucks... outside of the urban areas it is container trucks and large trucks carrying construction materials.
The following brands of Trucks can be seen on the streets of Hong Kong and include:-

Number 843 rests at Carlin How having just returned on a fine summers evening to the station having been canceled from a serious 999 call which Yorkshire Ambulance service handled. This is one of the examples of cross service communication as the Whitby accident crew took the call having been cleared via York control. Withdrawn in 2009.

This was my first-ever contribution to the "In Numerical Order" group on flickr. I had recently discovered the group but had not really started collecting number photos myself. I had tried a couple of times to take a photo of a number and come back and upload it later, but each time the group had already moved beyond. I generally kept track of where the group was, though, when I logged into flickr. This number caught my eye while I was on a business trip, out to dinner with clients, and I was nearly bursting with anticipation by the time I could get back to my hotel and see if the slot was still available. It was!
