so earlier today i was kinda down on myself and i was comparing myself to someone and i started thinking about how hard i try everyday to try and make myself feel good enough. a lot of these things i use almost every single day. my boyfriend hates that it takes up a lot of the counter space. he told me to keep only what i use on a daily basis up there and put the rest in the cupboard a few weeks ago.
im not sure why i choose to use all of these things all the time. i guess i feel that they help me or something? i wanna feel good enough for him and myself and i guess this stuff helps me to do that. we have been dating almost a year now in a few days but i still try my hardest to look my best. cause he is amazing inside and out and he deserves the best.
confession: I try REALLY hard.

One of the keys to shooting Epic Landscape Photography is exalting the photograph's soul via golden ratio compositions, thusly wedding the photographic art to the divine proportion by which life itself was designed and exalted. The simple golden ratio PHI can exalt your art with the golden ratio harmonies in the form of golden rectangles, golden triangles, golden spirals, golden cuts, and more, all linked by the divine proportion!

Greetings flickr friends! I am working on several books on "epic photography," and I recently finished a related one titled: The Golden Number Ratio Principle: Why the Fibonacci Numbers Exalt Beauty and How to Create PHI Compositions in Art, Design, & Photography: An Artistic and Scientific Introduction to the Golden Mean . Message me on facebook for a free review copy!
www.facebook.com/goldennumberratio/
The Golden Ratio also informs the design of the golden revolver on all the swimsuits and lingerie, as well as the 45surf logo!
The Golden Number Ratio Principle: Dr. E’s Golden Ratio Principle: The golden ratio exalts beauty because the number is a characteristic of the mathematically and physically most efficient manners of growth and distribution, on both evolutionary and purely physical levels. The golden ratio ensures that the proportions and structure of that which came before provide the proportions and structure of that which comes after. Robust, ordered growth is naturally associated with health and beauty, and thus we evolved to perceive the golden ratio harmonies as inherently beautiful, as we saw and felt their presence in all vital growth and life—in the salient features and proportions of humans and nature alike, from the distribution of our facial features and bones to the arrangements of petals, leaves, and sunflowers seeds. As ratios between Fibonacci Numbers offer the closest whole-number approximations to the golden ratio, and as seeds, cells, leaves, bones, and other physical entities appear in whole numbers, the Fibonacci Numbers oft appear in nature’s elements as “growth’s numbers.” From the dawn of time, humanity sought to salute their gods in art and temples exalting the same proportion by which all their vital sustenance and they themselves had been created—the golden ratio.
Ansel Adams is not only my favorite photographer, but he is one of the greatest photographers and artists of all time. And just like great artists including Michelangelo, Monet, Degas, Renoir, Leonardo da Vinci, Vermeer, Rembrandt, Botticelli, and Picasso, Ansel used the golden ratio and divine proportions in his epic art.
Not so long ago I discovered golden regions in many of his famous public domain his 8x10 aspect ratio photographs. I call these golden harmony regions "regions of golden action" or "ROGA"S, as seen here:
www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.1812448512351066.107374...
And too, I created some videos highlighting Ansel's use of the golden harmonies. Enjoy!

We visited Yehliou Geo-Park followed by Keelung before heading to Jioufen Old Street (see the other 2 sets).
Finally, we took the bus which took us back to Taipei Bus Terminal. I followed my original plan to shop at Shin Kong Mitsukoshi Dept Store (near Taipei Main Station)
However, I eventually gave HUAYIN ST. SHOPPING AREA a pass as I was really tired by then. Furthermore, the early enthusiasm to shop for wholesale craft materials had died off even before the trip as my attempt to sell my crafts online did not fall through :( after a lot a lot a lot a lot of hard work, money & time were exhausted.
Thanks to Monica's recommendation, shopping was Shin Kong was a delight. I bought some quality stuffs there with some discount. While the prices are steeper, I could shop in comfort at leisurely pace. I got praises for the bronze metallic bag & little blue velvet coat bought there.
After a few purchases at Shin Kong also asked for direction to walk back to Ximending, thinking it was only a stop away. Wrong decision. I ended up getting lost in the rain along the dark streets after getting quite a few wrong directions by well-intended locals.
My origin al plan after visiting Yehliou, Keelung & Jioufen:

If only I could time-travel back to 2006, I would have stocked up on the small scale Sigma 6 G.I. Joe vehicles. I loved that line, and I have most of the larger 8 inch figures, but I skipped most of the smaller vehicles. I am kicking myself now that I can see that there is not a lot of difference between the 3 inch Sigma 6 figures, and the 2 inch MiniMates.
Not only were there a number of vehicles that came out that would work for pretty close scale, but there were also a couple of Mechas. And, since Mechas are a made-up vehicle, the size can be off for the scale to still work. In this case, the Iron Hammer is a great example. It is a big vehicle that can fit into the scenes with the MiniMates. Better yet, it has a cockpit that can fit a MiniMate. That can't always happen with the strange dimensions of MiniMates, but when it works, you do NOT want to pass it up.
Interestingly, there were a lot of vehicles from Sigma 6 that were repurposed into the standard 3 3/4 inch G.I. Joe line. So, if they can go up in scale, I can go down in scale. That means, keep your eyes out for other vehicles that fit the bill. If they are not a standard vehicle, they may very well fit into scale.
Aside: I was having fun today, since I made 6 more explosions, I wanted to see if I could make it look like the windows were being blown out of the building. I also made a smoke trail for a missile. I think they are very convincing, and I am looking forward to my next project. What that is, I don't know yet, but I am sure it will be fun.

Cirque du Soleil (pronounced: [siʁk dy sɔ.lɛj], "Circus of the Sun") is a Canadian entertainment company. It is the largest theatrical producer in the world. Based in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, and located in the inner-city area of Saint-Michel, it was founded in Baie-Saint-Paul in 1984 by two former street performers, Guy Laliberté and Gilles Ste-Croix.
Initially named Les Échassiers ([lez‿e.ʃa.sje], "The Waders"), they toured Quebec in 1980 as a performing troupe. Their initial financial hardship was relieved in 1983 by a government grant from the Canada Council for the Arts, as part of the 450th anniversary celebrations of Jacques Cartier's voyage to Canada. Le Grand Tour du Cirque du Soleil was a success in 1984, and after securing a second year of funding, Laliberté hired Guy Caron from the National Circus School to re-create it as a "proper circus". Its theatrical, character-driven approach and the absence of performing animals helped define Cirque du Soleil as the contemporary circus ("nouveau cirque") that it remains today.
Each show is a synthesis of circus styles from around the world, with its own central theme and storyline. Shows employ continuous live music, with performers rather than stagehands changing the props. After financial successes and failures in the late 1980s, Nouvelle Expérience was created – with the direction of Franco Dragone – which not only made Cirque du Soleil profitable by 1990, but allowed it to create new shows.
Cirque du Soleil expanded rapidly through the 1990s and 2000s, going from one show to 19 shows in over 271 cities on every continent except Antarctica. The shows employ approximately 4,000 people from over 40 countries and generate an estimated annual revenue exceeding US$810 million. The multiple permanent Las Vegas shows alone play to more than 9,000 people a night, 5% of the city's visitors, adding to the 90 million people who have experienced Cirque du Soleil's shows worldwide. In 2000, Laliberté bought out Gauthier, and with 95% ownership, has continued to expand the brand. In 2008, Laliberté split 20% of his share equally between two investment groups Istithmar World and Nakheel of Dubai, in order to further finance the company's goals. In partnership with these two groups, Cirque du Soleil had planned to build a residency show in the United Arab Emirates in 2012 directed by Guy Caron (Dralion) and Michael Curry. But since Dubai's financial problems in 2010 caused by the 2008 recession, it was stated by Laliberté that the project has been "put on ice" for the time being and may be looking for another financial partner to bankroll the company's future plans, even willing to give up another 10% of his share. Several more shows are in development around the world, along with a television deal, women's clothing line and the possible venture into other mediums such as spas, restaurants and nightclubs. Cirque du Soleil also produces a small number of private and corporate events each year (past clients have been the royal family of Dubai and the 2007 Super Bowl).
The company's creations have received numerous prizes and distinctions, including a Bambi Award in 1997, a Rose d'Or in 1989, three Drama Desk Awards in 1991, 1998 and 2013, three Gemini Awards, four Primetime Emmy Awards, and a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. (Wikipedia)

The Elsa Maquette fully deboxed and assembled.
The Elsa Maquette Reproduction Figurine is produced by Enesco, and is part of the new Walt Disney Archives Collection. The new collection is being produced by the same team that made the WDCC figurines, and in a way replaces that now discontinued line. She was previewed at the D23 Expo in August 2015. I pre-ordered her in early September and received her in early December. She is a resin figure with a separate base, and is a numbered limited edition collectible. Mine is #425 of 5000, which is numbered in a CoA (called a Certificate of Verification), as well as under the base. She is based on one of the maquettes used in the making of Disney's Frozen. She is Elsa in her Snow Queen persona, in a dramatic pose, with her long sweeping cape behind her. She is a beautiful and accurate depiction of the animated character. She costs $350, and is still available from various Disney art and collectibles dealers.
She stands 9.5 inches tall from her heels to the top of her head, or about 10.5 to the top of her raised hand. The figure on the base measures about 15 inches long, 8 inches wide and 11 inches high. The total weight is about 7.5 pounds. Her cape is covered in iridescent glitter, which does shed a little bit. There are minor paint flaws in her eyes and hair, and left hand is slightly separated from her arm. I don't think they detract from the look of the piece. I consider her a piece of the movie itself (as a replica prop), and am very glad to have bought her.
RIAT 2015 #BoB75
The Buchon is essentially a Rolls-Royce Merlin-engined Messerschmitt Bf109. The Luftwaffe-manned Condor Legion left around 40 Bf109B/E’s for the Spanish Air Force to use upon its return to Germany in 1939. In 1943 the Spanish government agreed a licence production with Messerschmitt to produce 200 Bf109G’s. A total of 25 dismantled airframes were sent to Spain in 1943 as pattern aircraft for future production, although engines, propellers, tailplanes and armament failed to arrive. As the war worsened, Germany was unable to supply the remaining components for the airframes, the technical drawings or appropriate jigs. By late 1944, when neither missing parts nor engine were available from Germany, Hispano Aviacion modified the airframes and tried two different engines, the second French built engine being the more successful. Improving relations between the Spanish government and the West from 1952 onwards, saw a more powerful engine sourced from Britain, the two-speed Rolls Royce Merlin 500-45. The combination of ex-German airframe and British powerplant was successful and the first prototype flew its maiden flight on 30 December 1954. This particular aircraft was given the construction number 223 when built by Hispano Aviacion in Seville in 1959. Its service history has yet to come to light but unit code 7-54 stamped into a panel on the wing indicates that the Buchon served with Ala 7 at Tablada and El Corpero, although it remains uncertain whether the aircraft saw combat in the Spanish Sahara.
This aircraft was one of 27 purchased at auction from the Spanish Air Force by Spitfire Productions for use in the making of the 1968 film “Battle of Britain”. Wing tips were squared off, tail struts added and dummy machine guns fitted to the wings to more visually represent the Messerschmitt BF109E of the Battle of Britain period. Filming started in Spain, but later the 17 airworthy aircraft were flown via France to Duxford, UK. Throughout the summer of 1968, the 17 Buchons, 2 Heinkel Bombers and 9 Spitfires engaged in mock dogfights above East Anglia and The Wash. Upon completion of filming, the aircraft were returned to their owners or in the case of the Buchons put up for disposal.
By now registered as G-AWHK, this particular Buchon was one of eleven taken by Texan pilot and aircraft collector Wilson C “Connie” Edwards as payment for flying services during the filming. It was shipped to his ranch in Texas where it flew briefly as N9938 before being placed on static display in 1971 with the Confederate Air Force in Detroit. Acquired by the Old Flying Machine Company, it arrived at Duxford In May 1996,re-registered as G-BWUE and sold on to The Real Aircraft Company at Breighton in Yorkshire, who initiated a full rebuild to airworthy condition. The aircraft was marked up as Hauptmann Werner Schroer’s Bf 109G-2/trop ‘Red 1’, which he flew whilst serving on the Greek island of Rhodes in early 1943.
Purchased by Spitfire Ltd. in November 2006, G-BWUE moved back to Duxford to be maintained by the Aircraft Restoration Company. The aircraft appeared regularly at airshows in the UK and was also used during the filming of ‘Valkyrie’ starring Tom Cruise. Now owned by Historic Flying Ltd., G-BWUE has been assembled and painted as Messerschmitt ‘Yellow 10’ as seen in the Battle of Britain film.

The IVECO M40.10 series of Light Utility Vehicles were designed for high mobility both on and off road, the main goal was to provide airborne and other similar formations with a light truck. This Military vehicle is in fact based on the 1st generation IVECO Daily Commercial Van. It fills the gap between Jeeps and Light Trucks. Its production commenced in the late 1980's. The M40.10 series vehicles have been exported to a number of countries, it was adopted by at least 10 NATO countries. Another major operator was Pakistan with 2,200 vehicles. Furthermore this Military Vehicle has been license produced in Canada, China, Egypt and reportedly Malaysia. Around 18,000 of these vehicles were produced during the last 30 years, including the license-produced vehicles.
The series designation is made up of nominal vehicle weight and nominal engine power, the IVECO M40.10 has a payload capacity of 1.5 tonne. The baseline vehicle comes with a 9ft 2in long wheelbase. It is used for a variety of Tactical Roles, including Troop and cargo transport, support and maintenance roles. It can also tow trailers and Light Artillery Pieces off-road with a maximum weight of 1.5 tonnes. This vehicle can function as a Light Artillery Tractor and tow a 105mm Light Field Howitzer or 120mm Mortar. This vehicle can be configured in a number of ways, the driving cab is usually fitted with a soft top, however hard top was also available, the windscreen can be tilted forward to reduce vehicle height. The cab accommodates the Driver and two Personnel, there are folding seats along each side for 10 Troops. The IVECO M40.10 was designed for simple installation of different body types, such as van or ambulance for 4 stretchers, it can carry a standard S250 Military Container Shelter. This vehicle can be equipped with an M40 series 106mm Recoilless Rifle or Anti-Tank Guided Missile Launcher, as well as various Machine Guns.
Vehicle uses commercial platform of the IVECO Daily van, powered by Fiat 8142 turbocharged diesel engine, developing 103hp. Engine is mated to a manual 5-speed gearbox. A front-mounted winch was proposed as an option. Two IVECO M40.10's can be airlifted by the C-130 Hercules Transport Aircraft. This vehicle can also be airdropped. Successor of the IVECO M40.10 eventually became the new IVECO 70.20WM, which is a militarized version of the new commercial IVECO Daily van. The new vehicle can carry significantly more payload.

I can't believe I lucked out with a numbered Jett Dawson! Mine is #499/1000. I preordered two from Amazon US on release day, and because presales were restricted to the US, I had to resort to using a freight forwarder to ship her to me.
Her box came a little beat up, and most of those gold corner pieces came loose so I had to glue them back on. Because she's numbered, I do want to keep her on display in her box, so it's a little frustrating she came this way. Sadly it's one of the perks of ordering from the US. I'm just grateful nothing is broken, cracked or damp. The deboxed Jett showing here is the other unnumbered one I got.
I also shipped a bunch of other dolls along with Jett, including the De'Vious twins, Barbie Extra deluxe dolls, made to move barbies, Barbie BMR1959 and the 2021 Lunar New Year Barbie. The entire package weighed a whopping 9kg!
Now onto the Jett doll herself. She's gorgeous. I love how edgy and bold she is with her monochromatic black and white graphic sketch style. I appreciate her extra articulation in the chest and ankles, and her buttery smooth and soft rainbow pastel hair is to die for. She also sports a different skin tone from the other girls? She seems to have more pink undertones than the fairest dolls like Ruby and Poppy, and it's so radiant and beautiful. They've also really toned down on the face shimmer and she her face is mostly matte, which is a treat for photos.
So I'm fully aware of all the controversy surrounding this "collector's edition" doll. And on one hand, I do agree that she's somewhat overpriced compared to other Rainbow High dolls such as Avery Styles. However, you're really getting bang for your buck if you compare her with let's say, a limited edition Disney doll. And it's mostly in her second outfit.
It's a runway style burgundy red mermaid dress, fully lined and embroidered. It definitely plays a big part in driving her cost up. And that's unfortunate. Because while I do appreciate the craftsmanship and time that went into this fashion piece, I can't say I'm a fan. I wish they'd put their time and budget on something more cohesive and less restrictive for Jett. I just don't see myself putting this impractical and extravagant dress on any of the current Rainbow High dolls. It will likely just act as a background decor or prop, which is a real pity. There are already several YT videos showing how problematic the dress is to get on and pose in.
Before I sign off, I do have to note that I'm so glad MGA finally released an east asian doll (even though her surname doesn't sound asian at all?) because we asians get so little representation in most doll lines. I hope to see more asian dolls enter the Rainbowverse.
So all in all, while I do adore this doll and she's definitely amongst my top favourites, she is not without issues. I have already ordered two more of her from Amazon (I'm trying to get one with deep red ombre lips like my numbered one which I will not be deboxing). As of now, my absolute favourite Rainbow High doll is Laurel De'vious. She's absolutely breathtaking, and I am so in love with her fiery colours and new face mould. More on that soon!!
