This is the last photo I'll be posting from our recent trip to Iceland. However, because there were species we either didn't see or didn't get many shots of this time round - such as the Rock Ptarmigan - I'm going to be adding a few previously unpublished images from our last visit in 2015. Whilst I enjoyed both trips, I don't think we'll be returning, so I'm going to use this opportunity to make sure my Flickr Iceland album contains all the photos I want it to, particularly as the album I had on my original website is now effectively lost.

WILDLIFE PHOTOGRAPHY ADVENTURES
'the experiences, the places, the species and more ....'
In respect of my new 'reincarnated' website www.tickspics.com I'm still spending all my current free time in trying to make it 'mobile friendly' - a rather thankless, but necessary task to comply with Google's SEO requirements. As soon as that is out of the way, I'll be regularly adding new content including an extended write-up about both our Iceland trips.
Disclaimer: I belong to a number of groups and each of these groups have criteria they want for submissions. If the group is called “Black and White Landscapes” I’m not going to submit a color portrait. But if a group’s criteria are a series of bullet points at the bottom of a homepage, I’m not going to remember which groups allow what. I belong to too many groups.
I will be posting images that challenge fascism. Those might be aimed at the United States or world wide. This isn’t a matter of party politics. It’s a matter of democracy vs. fascism. In the case of Donald Trump many of the loudest and most scathing voices opposed to him are from his own Republican Party. This isn’t about “sides” any more.
So if you are an administrator with a “pure” group let me know and I will leave your group (or block me). I will not stop making protest images because it displeases some groups. I will not be quiet. As has been said repeatedly in the past “The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing.” I will fight for freedom and democracy in the way I know best.

Entry for Puristic Parts category of the Summer Joust, where only basic bricks and plates, plus brick 1x1/2/4 with stud on side, are allowed to be used. I decided it would be fun to combine this category with a classic castle color scheme (based on 6067 Guarded Inn and such) and it was pretty interesting combining colors for the building that I wouldn't normally use. I'd like to note that the building is quite a bit more complex than it looks, and in fact the majority of it (left side of lower level, bottom half of top level) is built upside down (this is done to accommodate the window, which was a massive pain technically, and the right side up parts are necessary to deal with the upper part of the window and the door arch). Probably the hardest part was not being able to use tiles (which was why all those stud directions were necessary to smooth out certain bits!) but it added an interesting technical challenge. Enjoy!
A Manyosen De 7000 tram departs Kaiōmaru Station bound for the JR station in downtown Takaoka. Illuminating not just the tram, the lights in the background also illuminate the Shinminato Cable-Stayed Bridge over Toyama New Port.
The Manyosen (Sen=Line) is a tramway connecting downtown Takaoka with the ferry terminal at Koshinokata in Toyama Prefecture. Two types of trams are in use, MLRV1000's, and the De 7000's. The 7000 were built in the 1960's, and the company operates 3 of them for daily service. After Osaka's Hankai, and Shikoku's Iyotetsu Tramway's, the Manyosen operates some of the oldest in-service streetcars in Japan.

My photography is a necessary distraction for myself. Photography does not serve me any real purpose but something to do with my time. Throughout my photography, I've managed to create many meaningful relationships with the multiple individuals. I've encountered over the years. When I started photography, I was lonely. I had no friends. Due to my wild imagination, my crave for adventure, and being able to share amazing stories with other individuals were some of the driving force in my motivation to keep creating. Sometimes, I ask myself why create images? I honestly do not know. My friend told me if something provides me with a purpose then it is something worth pursuing.

India, Kerala, Nelliampathi, Wanderoo or Lion-tailed macaque.
…just his kind of macho behavior, or really being angry,
…I decided rather to move on, instead of finding out.
📍….sometimes it is helpful to know someone who knows someone who is friends with a ranger & who is responsible for monitoring the endangered Lion-tailed Macaque...thanks Sania...🙏
So we were able to observe & photograph them in their natural habitat with the necessary distance to the animals & without tourist hype.
There is rarely & only in the company of a ranger individually or with maximal a handful of observers, feeding is absolutely forbidden, after about 2 hours the fun is over & we have to leave, so the monkeys don't get used to people & change their instinctive behaviour.
It is a zestful thing to observe the Wanderoo in the Forest Reserve of Nelliampathi, approximately 70 km straight line between the forest reserve & Kochi on the coast.
Lion-tailed macaques are omnivorous but their diets consists mainly of fruits, but also eat a wide variety of vegetation such as leaves, stems, flowers, buds fungi, occasionally insects, lizards, tree frogs & small mammals are part of their diet.
The Wanderoo monkeys live exclusively in southwestern India in the southern regions of the mountain range Western Ghats. They are diurnal rainforest dwellers & good climbers, spending most of their lives in the trees. In contrast to other macaque species, they avoid human contact & do not colonize plantations.
In their group behaviour they are similar to the other macaques: they live in groups of mostly ten to twenty animals, which are made up of a few males & many females.
There is a distinct hierarchy within the groups. Wanderoos are territorial animals, they initially defend their territory with loud screams against other groups. If this doesn't help, aggressive fights can also occur.
📌….In 2003 a report stated 3000–3500 of these animals live scattered over several areas in Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka. The lion-tailed macaque ranks among the rarest & most endangered primates. Their range has become increasingly isolated & fragmented by the spread of agriculture, tea, coffee, teak wood & cinchona trees, construction of water reservoirs for watering & power generation & human settlements to support such activities. They do not live, feed or travel through plantations, destruction of their habitat & their avoidance of human proximity have led to the drastic decrease of their population.
📌….however, there is hope, actually are about 32 zoos worldwide that have this species in their zoo & participate in a common breeding program.
There are 5 zoos in Germany, 4 in China & 2 in the USA - San Diego, Birmingham, 1 in Canada, 2 Russia, the rest are spread out in zoos in Europe & a few other countries around the world....except India.

The Giant's Causeway (Irish: Clochán an Aifir) is an area of about 40,000 interlocking basalt columns, the result of an ancient volcanic fissure eruption. It is located in County Antrim on the north coast of Northern Ireland, about three miles (4.8 km) northeast of the town of Bushmills.
It was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1986 and a national nature reserve by the Department of the Environment for Northern Ireland in 1987. In a 2005 poll of Radio Times readers, the Giant's Causeway was named the fourth-greatest natural wonder in the United Kingdom.
The tops of the columns form stepping stones that lead from the cliff foot and disappear under the sea. Most of the columns are hexagonal, although some have four, five, seven, or eight sides. The tallest are about 12 metres (39 ft) high, and the solidified lava in the cliffs is 28 metres (92 ft) thick in places.
Much of the Giant's Causeway and Causeway Coast World Heritage Site is owned and managed by the National Trust. It is one of the most popular tourist attractions in Northern Ireland, receiving over 998,000 visitors in 2019. Access to the Giant's Causeway is free of charge: it is not necessary to go via the visitor centre, which charges a fee. The remainder of the site is owned by the Crown Estate and several private landowners. Wikipedia
The sweet days of summer feel so far away right now as I look out at the grey skies and the upcoming snowstorm in our forecast; yet, the seasons change for a reason. Without them, much of what makes summer so special in much of North America, would not be possible. Trees would die if they did not have a season to be dormant and rest, without the wet seasons the grass would wither and the flowers of summer would not bloom. So even though this time of year is not always pleasant, it is necessary for those sweet days of summer to return. It is much like this in our lives as well, there are seasons that feel bitter and heavy, but they are necessary to bring about something good in us. God uses these hard seasons to shape us and grow us and make us look more like Jesus! Gold is only pure when it is refined by fire.

Big home.
In zoo, here is almost things for animals.water, food everything. But my thought that animals better live forest than another place because in forest , their freedom is alive.

I'm still having a hard time coming to grips with the CPKC merger as so many things that seemed unusual and intriguing become the norm, while the memories of what was and what were start to feel simpler and better. It was necessary for both railroads to remain competitive, even after the merger the combined entity is still the smallest Class I. For me though, the CPR will always be the historic railway that built this country, proudly adorning the symbolic red and the beaver in one form or another. While I doubt this north country switch key at Pog is going anywhere anytime soon (I'd bet its been here forever and a day already), I'll document it before it too disappears and enjoy the nostalgia in the meantime.
The view's not so bad from there, but you can do it from any position. The formalities aren't all so necessary.
Emergencies have always been necessary to progress. It was darkness which produced the lamp, and it was fog that produced the compass.

Big.
For the most part brown bears are fairly docile creatures. We fear them because of the potential for injury or death but for coastal brown bears the fear is unnecessary. Understanding bears and bear behavior and adding a good dose of attentiveness is really what is necessary. The bears spend a majority of their time eating berries, grasses, and shellfish. How do they get the shellfish, you ask? They dig it! Cubs do their best but have not yet learned the skill. Adults are very adept at digging razor clams along the tidal flats. The clams form a dimple or hole in the sand that we call a “clam show.” The bears look for these, and perhaps also smell the clams. Keep in mind that razor clams can dig about a foot every 30 seconds, so stealth is needed if they are going to capture their prey. It’s pretty interesting to watch. Can you dig it? #Brownbears
After much deliberating I decided to use this item for my Macro Mondays Corner theme, I counted at least 54 visible corners on it!
I came across it in the garage when looking for a suitable subject, and knew (sentimentally) after coming across this old piece of work, that I just had to use it!
Thirty-six years ago, a (far) younger Kev Gregory was undergoing his technical aircraft engineering training at RAF Halton in England, and one of the first phases on the course was Basic Engineering, where each student had to produce a test piece.
Set against stringent criteria laid down in an engineering drawing, the plate and block had to be handmade, shaped, and within tight tolerance to size and square, with the addition of blind and through holes to accommodate the rod and bolts, with threads cut as necessary.
This was a ‘rite of passage’ for students, there could be no progression on the course until this part had been mastered.
Despite being stored in a plastic bag for all these years, it’s succumbed to corrosion in a few places, but I managed to remove the majority of it before taking the shot.
Happy New Year and Macro Mondays everyone.
Well here we are 2020 is marching on even as we speak, the evenings are pulling out and the festivities are all but a memory.🌞
Funny I should mention the festivities as the village Christmas tree and decorations are taken down each year by a jovial bunch of volunteers. Some of the volunteers are the most highly qualified drinkers the village has ever assembled for this task.
Leading this operation is our own Hoof who is the one blessed with brains in these type of demanding situations. 🎄💡💡💡
Horace is more of a hands on type of person driving the telehandler and wielding a chainsaw in that order. Before you ask, yes he wears all the necessary protective clothing especially the cut resistant trousers which have the ability to instantly stall a chainsaw running at full power should it slip, after all Horace needs to look after his wedding tackle.🚜⚙️ (Check these trousers out on You Tube)
Hoof always contacts the local electricity board and gets permission to disconnect the lights from the tree, they normally ask “at watt time are you going to do it” Hoof responds we don’t want any resistance to this request or there may be a revolt by the lights committee.💡💡💡⚡️⚡️⚡️🔌🔌🔌
Once the lights and tree are down, we take a break for elevenses and the ladies of the WI very kindly provide trays of food led by their chairperson Bertha Thomas, and before you ask she does not have a brother called (no I am not going to say that name, stop it)☕️☕️☕️☕️☕️🍰🍰🍰🍰🍰
Following these very welcome refreshments, there is a scurry of activity and the village is cleared of its Christmas decorations for another year.
Now as you all know 2019 was the year of the pig according to the Chinese zodiac, so it was felt that this achievement by Horace should be celebrated, yes a debrief of his years activities needed to be carried out in the pub.🐷 🎯🏨
As is the norm in our local pub following such an achievement much beer is thrown around the place. Also the world record for drinking the yard of ale is often broken during the celebrations. A few sea chanties are sung and everyone behaves in a very sensible manner.🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺🎤🎤🎸🎷🎺😇
Having been such a busy day Horace decided to sit down with some of his chums at a table in the pub and hold court.
Then a customer looks over and walks towards Horace and asks “does your dog bite” Horace responded my dog has never bitten anyone, so the man put his hand down to stroke the dog and it bit right into his hand.
“Here said the man, you told me your dog doesn’t bite” Horace said “that’s not my dog”.🐶😁
Thank you all so much for viewing my images, the comments are so appreciated, enjoy your weekend🍺🍺🍺🍷🍷🍷😎🐎🐷😂😂😂

Gmail isn't the only inbox I'm a slave to. The only things I get in the mail nowadays are bills, cards from my grandmothers, and junk. Today, I got an IKEA catalogue that was addressed to someone else (news flash: USPS sucks in Chicago), the Herald Extra (which is just a reprint of the ads and coupons from the Hyde Park Herald), and a bill for my next two months of health insurance (biggest goddamn scam in the whole world).
Taken this shot at Kanching, Waterfall. The Kanching Falls are located between Kuala Lumpur and Rawang in Selangor, Malaysia, and is a popular tourist destination in Kuala Lumpur. The waterfalls consist of seven tiers. A well-maintained recreation park provides access to the lower falls. To reach the upper falls uphill scrambling may be necessary.
