The building appears to be in great shape. It's quite a beauty.
A beautiful Late Moderne structure with fantastic, architectural details. The simplicity and overall balance of the building is very well done.

Recently refreshed under new ownership, the Avalon Inn, 4th Avenue, St Pete looks like a refugee from Miami Beach. It dates from c. 1940.
Le 20ème arrondissement de Paris est rempli de surprises : en l'explorant un peu, on retrouve les traces de son passé "villageois" un peu partout.
As you enter the now famous Club Moderne, if you look up as you walk in from the outside, you'll see this really cool, stylized M.
I could see this on note cards, or a bidness card., At least, that's my plan anyway.

Designed by the German Architect Stephan Braunfels, the Pinakothek der Moderne was inaugurated in September 2002 after seven years of construction. The rectilinear facade, dominated by white and grey concrete, is interrupted by large windows and highrising columns, the latter supporting the extensive canopied roof. Each of the four corners of the building, connected by a central rotunda, is dedicated to a special collection. The Museum is thus divided into Art (Kunst), Architecture (Architektur), Design (Design) and Works on Paper (Graphik).
The windows are imitation Frank Lloyd Wright. Wright also did corners of glass, but his were structured without a post in the middle of the corner, and opened up around the center, not on the edges. Close, but no cigar.
It's elegant, if you can ignore the color and the razorwire.

Because of construction works on the Woudhoek-branch of tramline 21 a shuttle bus ran between Station Schiedam Centrum and Woudhoek.
