Dieser Aphorismus scheint in Architektur- und Künstlerkreisen seit mindestens 60 Jahren bekannt zu sein und wird - immer ohne Quellenangabe - Mies van der Rohe, aber auch Picasso, Salvatore Dali und Friedensreich Hundertwasser unterschoben. Bisher ist es noch niemandem gelungen, den Spruch in einer ihrer Schriften oder Interviews nachzuweisen.
Die Seilbahn in Dinant verbindet das Stadtzentrum mit der hoch über der Maas gelegenen Zitadelle von Dinant. Diese moderne, stützenlose Pendelbahn ermöglicht es Besuchern, den Höhenunterschied von etwa 100 Metern bequem zu überwinden und bietet während der kurzen Fahrt beeindruckende Ausblicke auf die Stadt und den Fluss.

The cable car in Dinant connects the city center with the citadel, which is perched high above the Meuse River. This modern, pillarless aerial tramway allows visitors to comfortably overcome the height difference of approximately 100 meters and offers stunning views of the city and the river during the short ride.

Valencia is the third largest city in Spain. Valencia is located on the Costa del Azahar on the Mediterranean Sea and is considered the birthplace of paella, one of the most famous dishes in Spanish cuisine. Valencia is also known as the orange city. Valencia is Spain's third economic engine, after Madrid and Barcelona. Valencia was founded in 138 BC. under the name Valentia Edetanorum, by a Roman leader. Valencia has a Mediterranean climate with warm summers and very mild winters. Valencia, like the entire region of Valencia, is officially bilingual; they speak both Spanish and Valencian. Valencian is very closely related to Catalan. Spanish Valencia is more than beach and paella. The highlight that you do not want to miss are the modern buildings of Calatrava. The 'Ciutat de les Arts i les Ciències' or 'the City of Arts and Sciences' is a cultural and scientific complex of seven special buildings designed by Calatrava and is located in the drained Turia River of Valencia. It includes Spain's finest aquarium L'Oceanographic, a planetarium, an IMAX theatre, a science museum and a striking event hall. This science park is definitely the number one attraction of Valencia!
The Science Museum - Ciències in Valencia presents scientific exhibitions that will surprise you from the moment you arrive. A Foucault pendulum hangs from the glass ceiling of the museum. This invention proves that the earth rotates on its own axis. The third floor is home to another major attraction: an array of flying machines, including a Mirage III, a reproduction of Gaspar Brunet's plane, which flew the first in Spain; and a model of an invention by Leonardo da Vinci. This is the great 21st century science museum to learn all about life, science and technology in a didactic, interactive and entertaining way. Full interactivity is one of its special features, with the motto: "Forbidden not to touch, not to feel, not to think". In order to generate a pleasant learning process in which the visitor always actively participates.

Een slinger van Foucault hangt aan het glazen plafond van het museum. Deze uitvinding bewijst dat de aarde om haar eigen as draait. The international exhibitions held at the Triennale di Milano and the Biennale di Venezia are barometers of the most significant developments in twentieth century contemporary design and art. It is therefore no coincidence that Murano glass regularly attracts awards at both Milan and Venice. Having resurrected a range of centuries-old techniques, glassmakers such as A.V.E.M, Archimede Seguso, Barovier & Toso, and Venini learned to apply this knowledge in new and ingenious ways. Their work is a synthesis of the master glassmakers’ craftsmanship and the designers’ artistry. The objects they create attest to a successful renaissance of glass design that continues to the present day.
Displaying a selection of objects from the Holz Collection in Berlin, one of the most important private collections of 20th and 21st century Murano glass anywhere in the world, this is the first comprehensive exhibition of glassware that continues to set new standards in Milan and Venice.

Wieder einmal war ich unterwegs auf Foto Tour in Düsseldorf um moderne Architektur im Medienhafen zu fotografieren. Berühmt sind die Gerry Bauten, die ein sehr beliebtes Fotomotiv sind. Die bunten Häuser und Glasfassaden und deren Spiegelung sind ein interessantes Motiv für mich. Viel Spaß beim betrachten.
Once again I was on a photo tour in Düsseldorf to photograph modern architecture in the Media Harbour. The Gerry buildings are famous and are a very popular photo subject. The colourful houses and glass facades and their reflections are an interesting subject for me. Enjoy looking at them.
مرة أخرى كنت في جولة تصويرية في دوسلدورف لتصوير الهندسة المعمارية الحديثة في Media Harbour. مباني جيري مشهورة وهي فرصة لالتقاط الصور المشهورة. تعتبر المنازل الملونة والواجهات الزجاجية وانعكاساتها فكرة مثيرة للاهتمام بالنسبة لي. استمتع بالنظر إليها.
我再次在杜塞尔多夫进行摄影之旅，拍摄媒体港的现代建筑。格里建筑非常著名，也是非常受欢迎的拍照地点。色彩缤纷的房屋和玻璃幕墙及其倒影对我来说是一个有趣的主题。看着它很开心。
Une fois de plus, j'étais en voyage photo à Düsseldorf pour photographier l'architecture moderne du Media Harbour. Les bâtiments Gerry sont célèbres et constituent une séance photo très populaire. Les maisons colorées et les façades vitrées et leurs reflets sont pour moi un motif intéressant. Amusez-vous à le regarder.
В очередной раз я был в фототуре в Дюссельдорфе, чтобы сфотографировать современную архитектуру Медиа-Харбора. Здания Джерри известны и являются очень популярной возможностью для фотографирования. Красочные дома, стеклянные фасады и их отражения — интересный для меня мотив. Получайте удовольствие, глядя на это.
St. Antonius Abbas ist die unter Denkmalschutz stehende römisch-katholische Pfarrkirche von Herkenrath, einem Stadtteil von Bergisch Gladbach.
Eine erste urkundliche Erwähnung fand die Herkenrather Kirche zwischen 1150-1166, eine romanische querhauslose Basilika mit Chor, die noch heute im Westteil der Kirche in ihren Grundzügen besteht.
1892 brach man den romanischen Chor ab und fügte an seiner Stelle einen größeren neuromanischen Kirchenraum an die romanische Basilika an.
Anfang der 1960er Jahre fiel der Entschluss, die romanische mittlerweile denkmalgeschützte Kirche zu erhalten und durch einen modernen Anbau zu verändern, der 1964 abgeschlossen war.
Die jüngste Renovierungsmaßnahme von 2005 betraf den Chorraum und die Kirchenausmalung durch Hermann Gottfried.
Das Dockland-Gebäude in Hamburg ist ein beeindruckendes architektonisches Wahrzeichen an der Elbe. Es befindet sich im Stadtteil Altona und zeichnet sich durch seine außergewöhnliche Form aus, die an ein futuristisches Schiff erinnert. Dieses sechsstöckige Bürogebäude, entworfen von Hadi Teherani, scheint durch seine schrägen Seiten und die über das Wasser hinausragende Struktur fast über dem Hafen zu schweben.

The Dockland building in Hamburg is an impressive architectural landmark on the Elbe River. Located in the Altona district, it stands out for its extraordinary shape, reminiscent of a futuristic ship. Museum van Bommel van Dam, the museum for modern and contemporary art in North Limburg, is presenting an anniversary exhibition this fall of the realistic painter Evert Thielen (1954), born in Venlo. For over 50 years, he has been making extremely detailed paintings and meter-high polyptychs with self-made paint and gives his own twist to classical genres.
Museum van Bommel van Dam, hét museum voor moderne en hedendaagse kunst van Noord-Limburg, pakt dit najaar uit met een jubileumtentoonstelling van de realistische, in Venlo geboren schilder Evert Thielen (1954). Al ruim 50 jaar maakt hij uiterst gedetailleerde schilderijen en metershoge veelluiken met zelfbereide verf en geeft hij een eigen draai aan klassieke genres.
Tijdens de herfst van een tramleven resteren er twee mogelijkheden; sloop of behoud als museumtram. Voor tram 834 van de RET in Rotterdam viel de keuze gelukkig uit; de wagen werd bewaard. Als jongste rijvaardige museumtram werd het rijtuig in een representatieve toestand gerestaureerd. De tussen 1984 en 1988 op de baan gebrachte renovatie trams ademden de sfeer van de jaren tachtig met een exterieur en interieur in de kleuren geel, bruin en oranje. Geheel passend in dat tijdsbeeld nam de wagen op 16 oktober deel aan de tramparade ter gelegenheid van het 25 jarig bestaan van de trammuseumorganisatie ROMEO en het jubileum van 95 jaar gemeentelijke tramexploitatie.
