You don't see many interior shots of these types of homes today. We are leaving the bathroom intact. We may replace the flooring with black marble though to upgrade it some.
the Howard house (1939) designed by architect Henry T. Howard, has been called "one of the best of the city's few examples of streamlined Moderne from the 1930s" -- an example of the International Style, this four story Art Deco gem is in the Pacific Heights section of San Francisco

Mutual Sunset Lamp Company (M. S. L. C.)
Table Lamp with Nightlight
1930s Art Moderne, Modernist, Machine Aesthetic Design. Could be attributed to designer Gilbert Rohde who designed lamps for this company in the 1930s.
He designed over 35 lamps for this company and many were not documented.
Chrome (or Nickle) Plated with a Cream-colored Milk Glass Center.
Original Cloth Cord. Original Bakelight? plastic On/Off switch for the nightlight.
Adjustable shade holder with original finial.
Dimensions: 20 inches to 21 1/2 inches high; 4 1/2 diameter at the base. 9 inches high to the top of the glass/chrome base.
Weight: About 3 pounds, 14 ounces on a Postal Scale.
Condition: Mint to Very Good. All original parts (except for the shape) appear intact and in working order, including the pull chains and switch. All lamp sockets are in working order. I have not tried to clean the chrome---appears to have some minor surface issues (see photographs). Heavy base has a dull, matte finish as opposed to the chrome, banded rings at the top and the bottom of the glass center section. Original cords and interior fittings. One interior area seems to have been covered in electrical tape for safety.
Signed: M.S.L.C. D1600 on the bottom of the base.

With people wishing to have smaller and more easily managed houses after the Great War (1914 - 1918), architects began designing new ways of living in the 1920s and 1930s including flats and maisonettes.
This wonderfully stylised 1930s Streamline Moderne pair of maisonettes (two houses joined by a shared central wall), is a perfect example of this new way of living during the Interwar period.
The maisonette in this photograph, which is only one of the two, shows a honeyed clinker brick wall with horizontal bars of brown bricks and geometric patterns in concrete between the streamlined windows, which is completely different to its pair which has round porthole feature windows and a stuccoed brick wall treatment.
This way, even though the maisonettes were joined, the owners did not have to sacrifice their individuality!
This house is located on Central Coast of California where there are a surprising number of moderne streamline homes, apartments, and businesses. This home is a one-story, 1050 sq foot home with 2 bedrooms and 1 bath.
Art Deco House on Halmer Gate, Spalding. The best example of Moderne, with some streamline features, in town in my humble opinion. Strikingly beautiful. There is a purer streamline moderne house in Neville Avenue, but in spite of the pitched roof I think this one is prettier. Has now been remodelled but still looks great: bigger garage now.

Ted's Hamburger Shop, 624 Monroe Street, Toledo, Ohio. Built in 1931 by Ted Voudouris in the Moderne style, this small restaurant carried on a brisk business serving the needs of what was then a lively market area. In the 1990s, the surrounding area had changed and the restaurant closed. Since that time it has been operated as a 60 space surface parking lot.

The 1926 building is the anchor-point of Coral Gable’s Miracle Mile of upscale shops and businesses. The building was designed by Phineas Paist in collaboration with Walter De Garmo and Paul Chalfin. Whilst the street level buildings in pink are in a mixed Mediterranean Revival/Baroque styles, the upper floors owe more to Art Deco and Moderne, giving the impression almost of an ocean liner.

Fresno County, CA
The Fresno County Hall of Records, in Fresno, California, stands as a masterly example of PWA (Public Works Administration) Deco Moderne architecture. Exemplifying superior quality in workmanship and aesthetics throughout its exterior, the three story building consists of both Art Deco and stylized Neo-Classical details. Constructed in 1935-1937 with an annex added in 1954-1955, the Fresno County Hall of Records replaced the Fresno County Courthouse and the Fresno County Old Peoples’ Home as a depository and safe holding place for the county records. The safety of the county records, especially after an 1895 fire in the courthouse, helped prompt the genesis of the new building. The local firm of Allied Architects started drawing formal plans in 1934 after the PWA, together with the Fresno Memorial Auditorium provided grants and funding for the project. Dedicated on April 3, 1937, it only took 16 years for the building to become overly crowded and the annex proposed.
The Astrup Fearnley Museet for Moderne Kunst was designed by the Renzo Piano Building Workshop and was constructed 2006-2012. The design of the glass roof strongly identifies and unites the project. Its curved shape crosses the canal between the two buildings and in one corner nearly reaches the waters of the Oslofjord. The roof and its support pillars allude to the idea of a huge sail and masts that support it.
The museum does not attempt to give an overview over modern art. Rather, it focuses on fewer artists but shows a broad range of works by those featured artists.
