Today Mies van der Rohe Business Park.

 

The building will be kept in a basic state of preservation until the marketing has been completed, i.e. permanent tenants have been found and further financing for a monument-compliant expansion has been secured.

The sleek geometric lines of many diners were based on the “Art Deco” style. This art form was derived from a modernistic design trend that appeared in France in 1925 and gained in popularity following the release of the expressionistic German sci-fi film “Metropolis” in 1927. Over time a sub-genre developed known as “Streamline Moderne” – this was a design shift that placed emphasis on horizontal lines as seen in this photo.

The museum Moderne Galerie in Saarbrücken is an interesting example of Brutalism. Clearly structured, geometric division of the facade, rough forms, "raw" building materials such as concrete slabs. The hard shadows emphasize the geometric structures. Only the shadow of a tree and the arid, almost brown grass testify to nature.
