Phil took me to my first college wrestling match today. Fire Up Chips!

Match day at the GB Talent Squad training camp at the British Wrestling Academy on Thursday 24th February 2022.

The Wrestling Academy

41 Great Clowes St

Salford

M7 1RQ

The British Wrestling Talent Pathway.

The pathway will still consist of two tiers for those in secondary education with Regional squads leading to selection for the GB Talent Squad. The changes come in the change of focus to time spent on the mat working on technical and tactical skills and learning what it takes to be an elite athlete.

The Regional Squads consist of U13, U15 and Cadets with training on a monthly basis between September and April. Numbers will be limited to ensure that every athlete on the squad receives focused coaching to develop and improve. Club coaches are invited to attend along with their athletes to work alongside regional and national coaches.

The GB Talent Squad, for U15 and Cadets, will meet less frequently but with a focus on more time spent on the mat at three camps across the season in October, February, and April plus a summer camp. Numbers will be limited to approximately 18 in order that National coaches can work closely with the athlete, their club and regional coaches to develop and improve.

Around 1900 A. A series of 5 images of a page cut from a French-language encyclopedia. The original is very detailed.

From some pictures I think I have seen a photograph before.

Incidentally, I regret that this page has been cut loose. Only luck was that the trader did not use spray glue, when he foresaw the image of a mat.

Luther and rocky having a disagreement. I posted the photo just before this one in the series already. ON further review I like this one better. I can only imaging how much force it takes to move a bear like rocky back as luther did here.

Judging the skin tone of the Obitsu from online photos was near impossible, but it turned out to be a pretty good match.

Thank`s to Emma Ferguson from the Rangers Collectors club for the use of this image

The weather was terrible yesterday and I had done all the housework so I decided to have a go at photographing smoke again. I haven't done it for a good few years and was bored.

I used a Paul C Bluff Einstein camera right in a snoot to light the smoke and then processed it in photoshop. I kept the AWB as I liked the colour of the flame contrasting with the colour of the smoke.

It is hard to get the smoke sharp so I used the flash to freeze the movement and a higher f stop to make sure there was a good amount of DoF.

If you have any questions about the image write a comment and I'll try and answer it. Today looks like it is going to be a better day so I might go out
