Determination personified. She is one of 4 sisters, all tennis players, the youngest just 6 years old...
Matches look perfect from the distance. When you get closer, you start noticing the imperfections - not only dust or irregular woodsticks. The closer you get, the more imperfections you find (the crack on the pink match, the colour dots on the heads - you can just go on). Amazing how matches resemble people... Love imperfections? I do! HMM!!

The title has been inspired by the U.K comedy duo, Little and Large from the 1970s and 80s. They were hugely popular around that time and as the name suggests comprised one who was a lot bigger and fatter, Eddie Large and the other who was smaller and thinner, Syd Little!
Ever since the London Olympics I have been kind of fascinated by the speed and grace of fencing. I ran the idea by my friend Lupita Darkbyrd who found these CL Blue jumpsuits that reminded me enough of the uniform that I thought I would try to shoot something. No luck on the face masks or genuine looking sabers. I thought that the pic conveyed a little of the speed and action of the sport. Shot on a tilting light box. I used some of the fun action animations from Happy Dispatch.
