It seems that as one follows the back roads in Central Texas, often the unexpected is discovered. There certainly are more exotic and native game ranches out there than I realized. The animals pictured here were on ranch property enclosed by high deer and game fencing.

Phibs & George Rose painting in Newtown for Perfect Match 2017. Originally they were going to paint a tunnel in Petersham, but it was cancelled at the last minute because it was heritage listed. This wall was a replacement, and speaks about coral bleaching on the Great Barrier Reef.

The British Wrestling Talent Pathway.
The pathway will still consist of two tiers for those in secondary education with Regional squads leading to selection for the GB Talent Squad. The changes come in the change of focus to time spent on the mat working on technical and tactical skills and learning what it takes to be an elite athlete.
The Regional Squads consist of U13, U15 and Cadets with training on a monthly basis between September and April. Numbers will be limited to ensure that every athlete on the squad receives focused coaching to develop and improve. Club coaches are invited to attend along with their athletes to work alongside regional and national coaches.
The GB Talent Squad, for U15 and Cadets, will meet less frequently but with a focus on more time spent on the mat at three camps across the season in October, February, and April plus a summer camp. Numbers will be limited to approximately 18 in order that National coaches can work closely with the athlete, their club and regional coaches to develop and improve.

Not that you can really tell from this photograph.
The match was okay with Australia looking a bit cagey. They snatched a goal (nerves?) but Ireland came close a couple of times in the end.

Digital Camera magazine had an article about things that you can do at home. It had talked about photographing a match stick. It seemed simple, but turned out to be much harder than how it was mentioned in the magazine. As always lighting is the most tricky part for this photoshoot and I didn't get that right. Getting the stick to be properly exposed and the flame not over-exposed is a challenge. Give it a try...

The Reuben E. Lee was a paddle boat floating reasturant docked in Newport Bay, right along Pacific Coast Highway. It opened in 1964 and is still there but was renamed the "Pride of Newport".
I'd been having this stuff around for a while now and wanted to do something with them. I really like the colors, but this isn't exactly it. Just had to shoot something with them and this is the result of playing around one night a week or so ago.
Striking matches on teeth and eating fire. Just some of the qualities of a typical Stanford Graduate Product Design student.
