some years ago in kruger park,i witnessed to a death match.
a leopard decided to get a complicate meal, an huge porcupine.
the battle continued for an hour.
sometimes the leopards die after the quills injuries,sometimes leopard wins... but one thing is sure,
the leopard can decide to abandone the fight whenever wants.
the porcupine not, it's too slow...it can just try to resist and to inflict pain to the enemy ,forcing the leopard to leave.
for the porcupine it's just a death match and will sell dearly the skin!

This is St. John's Church in Helsinki, Finland, shot in February 2025.
St Johns is a Lutheran church designed by the Swedish architect Adolf Melander in the Gothic Revival style. It is the largest stone church in Finland by seating capacity.
I tried a slow shutter speed to get some movement in the ice hockey players. I like the overall look of the players which are almost like something LS Lowry might have painted, hence the title.

We have an open fire which we light when it is very cold. These matches were a perfect present for lighting the fire
For the Smile on Saturday group - theme matches
Two bulls (Cervus canadensis) play fighting. After a few minutes they were grazing on the grass with each other.
This isn't my MM shot for tomorrow, more of an 'after the event' kind of snap. I'd frozen a few sets of frozen objects in ice for the theme, and to defrost them I put them in a jar of warm water. This cooks match was too tall though and stuck out of the water. Ironically I struggled to achieve this look with controlled lighting, but out on the kitchen counter in natural light it just seemed to work!
