Well, I tried the smoke shots, how about fire?

Strobist: SB800 left, 1/4, 70mm, 30 degree saxonpc grid.

Shot of a match head on fire - I couldn't figure out how to speed up the shutter while getting a good dynamic range. This is the best I did.

I tell my kids not to play with matches, but spent the evening doing just that........

2nd attempt at the match. This time with a closer crop and using the RAW files (not the re-sized jpeg's). Same details as the other one. New for this image, some colour adjustments in Lightroom to bring out the blue in the smoke and a more natural smoky colour (more grey/blue than brown)

sb-24 camera right with cardboard snoot. Ebay remote. Held the match while I fired the camera.

After trying for years to pose dolls and keep my hand out of the photo, it was kind of fun to do today's prompt which was hand.
