This leaf was fluttering in the wind, and several shots missed. But the glowing back light was irrisistible.
October cold and sunny days in Rogów arboretum - impressive palm maples shocked us with variety of shades of red and yellow... Beautiful place.

I just came from my trip to Fushoshan Farm this evening. The maple were just partly red. It turned red later than last year since we did not get much rain this autumn. However, it was a great family trip with my parents and sister.
今年福壽山的楓葉紅得比去年晚,大約只紅了3成左右,據說是因為今年秋天雨水少。儘管如此,還是趟愉快的家族旅行~

Green house effects have kept us to see Japanese maple still in December.
But this evening we are expecting a cold weather will cover the whole Japan. So Japanese Sea side area will have a heavy snowfall.
thank you for your visit!

I was reminded of this Lomochrome Turquoise image I had made this past autumn while at work yesterday. I feel like this image was at the confluence of several serendipitous factors. On the one hand - while I like Turquoise on a personal level - I was motivated to shoot a roll of this film in order to produce more sample images of it for work purposes. On the other, I was wandering a familiar street in NW Portland and passing by this residence that I have passed so, so many times on previous walks. It has an entry staircase up to the front door that is flanked by eight Japanese Maple trees. Each time I walk by it I think to myself "I really need to come back in the fall and get a photo of this". Forget that uber-popular lone Japanese Maple in the Japanese Gardens up in Washington Park for here are eight of them. So as luck had it I had my Hasselblad loaded with Turquoise and these maples in full bloom. The Turquoise film changed their bright red foliage to these fun and surreal colors. There is a time and place for every camera and every film. Sometimes we are lucky enough to wander through them. Sometimes we are creative enough to go out seeking them. Sometimes magic just happen.
