I didn't even notice the spider web until looking back at these. One thing closeup photography has taught me is that we are outnumbered on this planet by spiders. They are EVERYWHERE.
I saw this maple tree around the corner from where I live on Saturday, but I didn't have my camera with me. I went out to shoot it on Sunday. It's gorgeous. Give it another 20 or 30 years. It will really be spectacular then when autumn comes around.
This is on 23rd Street just north of 30th Road in Astoria.
Maple sap comes out of the tree with a viscosity similar to water. Boiling it like this goes a long way at condensing it down to a thicker syrup.
I love red leaves and its not something we get much of in Montana unlike my childhood home in Pennsylvania. Imagine my delight to see a tree in my own yard turn red...
