A single red maple leaf, 🍁 fallen on the worn bench, rests like a silent flame, whispering the grace of autumn and the gentle surrender of fall. From my archive of autumn 2024.

Vine Maple leaves (Acer circinatum) illuminated by a sunfleck in the understory of a Douglas fir forest in Oregon.
Laying on the ground and shooting straight up at 24mm... I played with the Curves slider on this one to give it an artistic feel :)
Traveling for a few days, so will probably not be here as much.
Enjoy the awesome autumn colors!
A strange thing to be seeing autumn leaves on Flickr when we have new leaves and flowers everywhere. I hope as the world becomes more connected it will be friendship that results. With grateful thanks to my friends!

This beautiful tree is in my neighborhood, so you can get some lovely shots while walking around. I am partial to red in the landscape.
A maple in peak color. Processed from a single raw file. The sun burst from the Canon EF 16-35 f4 L is amazing and adds an attractive point to the photo.
I saw this maple on the way to a restaurant. After lunch, I went back alone to explore for a composition. I tried many shots and finally found the best result from backlight lightening the red maple leaves. This experience reminds me that there might be a lot to explore in the neighborhood. You don't always have to travel far to get something spectacular.
“Maples Trees” never disappoint in the fall. It’s a shame that colors in Fall are only temporary. Using photography to safe what we love most about the four seasons. Thanks for viewing my work. Stay safe and be kind.

A poem lovely as a tree." ~Joyce Kimer
I just went back to the Oregon Coast, second trip this month, with some friends from Texas. On our way back we stopped in Portland and I finally got to see the famous maple at the Japanese Gardens. I see why it's so popular!

Mother Nature is currently showing us how colorful and clever she can be . . . with so many varieties.
A drive around town, or in the countryside is interesting right now because of all the new leaves, some with a hint of autumn or just pure green. Oh yeah, the red maples just yell, "Hey look at us!"
