Made these festive little guys for a friend's birthday over the weekend.

This cutest Lady beetle is my new guest and it is November...crazy! Was very difficult to shoot her because it is absolutely hectic insect and I needed a lot of patience and waiting, until she stopped running for some seconds...anyway somehow I am happy with result.

Photographer Mauricio Archila captured this cute macro photo of a tiny rubber ducky with his Fujifilm XT-2 and a Fotodiox Fujifilm X-mount Macro Extension Tube. The macro extension tube allowed him to focus much closer on the subject than his Meike MK-50mm f/2 lens would normally allow.

Late, very late today...
Well to be honest I had no idea of what to do today but somehow I remembered all those macro shots I saw some weeks ago where they use some miniatures of people doing an specific work or represent a specific profession, then I decided to take my macro extension tubes and give it a try, and as I said it was just a try, also I don't have this kind of figures like to use them, so I did a shot of myself and created the miniature.
I know it is not a good shot but well, at least is something, hahaha, I promise again to do something better in the upcoming days and also to post in time.
Have a great night you all and don't forget to clean your teeth.

Hi everyone!
Look what a found today!
This fellow was trying to get inside my apartment from the balcony, I noticed him when I was closing the door before leaving the apartment to go to the open air party this afternoon, so, I went for my camera, change the 50mm lens for the macro extension tubes and the 18-55mm lens, I did I think like 10 shots, but this three are my favorites.
Well, now I'm back home and preparing my food and stuff for tomorrow's morning training. It was a nice weekend!
Hope you had/are having a nice weekend too.
I captured this macro leaf photo with a Sony A7S and a Fotodiox Auto Macro Extension Tube with a FlapJack C-200 LED Edgelight as back lighting.
Thanks for the visit ;-)

I just wrote a blog dedicated to one of my favorite lenses, the Sears 55mm/1.4.
(My digital camera broke this week, so this was taken with the Pentax K-30 I had to rent for a photo shoot I had scheduled for yesterday)

I haven't used my macro extension tubes since I got my 100mm a few months ago, I've had the extensions for two years now...I dusted them off today and took them for a spin and oh my they are the best things ever...if anyone is ever considering getting them..I say go for them and if you team it with a nifty fifty then you'll get awesome results...dreamy as ever.

These were tricky to capture today..although my mind is probably elsewhere... keep seeing spots everywhere!!!
Took this using the tubes no's 1 & 2 (9mm and 16mm) and 18-55mm standard kit lens in natural daylight. Aperture was pre-set to f/13.
Fuji XT-1 with the XF35mmF1.4R mounted on 16mm of AF extension tube, YN-560 with DIY diffuser @1/8th fired off cam left, hand held.
That other photo I posted of this cupcake is definitely sharper than this one, but I just plain like this shot better.
I used combined macro extension tube adapters no. 2 & 3 (16mm & 30mm) and 18-55mm kit lens. Taken using natural light from window.
I am continually amazed by the level of detail the tubes capture, it is fascinating what textures and details are revealed. This is a view of the underneath of the gerbera flower, thought I'd try a view not normally seen.

Hi everyone!
Back to the macro shots today, was preparing a salad and well, took one branch of celery and here is the result.
I was trying with other objects but this shot I liked it the most.
Well now time to go to bed, I am still very tired and I really need to sleep more...
Read you tomoroow!
A strawberry star with chocolate wafers in custard. Mmm, very tasty!
Not really, it is the same Tulip as this taken with my canon 50mm @ f/1.8 using macro extension tubes. I also changed the Anthers to a more chocolaty colour!
BTW - If anyone is interested in a very cheap and effective macro set up the Canon 50mm + Macro extension tubes can both be bought for under £50 on Ebay (under 74 euros)

New Year is always special - to some more than others. It is particularly special for Gavin and myself, as it marks the anniversary of a precious moment. It was as the bells were ringing in the first few seconds of 2006 that he and I shared our very first kiss.
This particular New Year's celebration has not really been as planned. We were meant to be in Scotland with Gavin's family, but unfortunately the weather has made it impossible. Throw in the fact that we are both full of cold and very disinclined to venture out of the front door (otherwise the theatre bar was looking very attractive!), we've had a somewhat uneventful and quiet time of it.
It may not be what we had planned - and it is the first New Year's Eve since I turned 18 (possibly longer!) where I haven't consumed any alcohol! But, despite being ill, there are many worse things than spending the evening alone with one's honey! Its actually been very lovely! :)
As for the photograph; so that all I would have to do come midnight was click the button, I set the shot up earlier in the evening, with Gavin's help, making full use of my existing equipment (including tripod and macro extension tubes), and some of my very shiny new Christmas presents - mini-studio, flashgun and various other lighting accessories! Santa has been very good to me this year! :D
The watch itself is special too. I have actually been without a watch for the last 6 years! So, when I unwrapped this present from my brother and his wife I was over the moon! I have so missed having a watch, but never felt justified in buying one for myself when I always had other means of telling the time! So, thank you Karl and Mandy!
And if all of that wasn't enough reason for this photograph, then I'd also like to add this. The last decade has contained much I would choose to forget. Marking the beginning of a new year and a new decade is a way of wiping the slate clean. What is done is done, and what is past is past. 2010 marks the beginning of my reclaiming of those valued things lost that may be reclaimed, a greater appreciation of the many wonderful things already existent in my life, and striving for a happier, more positive future.
Happy New Year everyone! May 2010 be good to you all. xxx

Potato beetle was my model during my testing and improving macros. In that case, I add a macro extension tube to my lens. I had to use manual focus and I had to do many shots in order to obtain an acceptable picture. Fortunately, beetle was a patiently model !!!
