Well, Flickr folks, it's time for me to go back to New Zealand. It's been five years since I arrived there for my semester abroad at the University of Otago, and ever since the moment the plane left the ground at the end of my semester, I've been trying to find a way back. That time is now, and I'll be away for about three weeks traveling around both islands and trying to take in all the beautiful sights, old and new. Maybe I'll find time to update Flickr, maybe not...but check my Facebook page to see if I post anything there en route, which is more likely! See you in March...

This is the ONLY half way decent shot I got from the other day when it snowed over the weekend... I think I lost my Snow Mojo. I don't know, maybe it was just the type of snow coming down wasn't the best flakes to photograph. Out of the hundreds of flaked I tried to catch, most of them were just tiny little ice balls.
I used the unsharpen mask filter in Photoshop & maybe went a little overboard on it. I don't know..
Macro shot in our garden with Olympus OM 50mm f1.8 Zuiko lens and extension tubes on Canon EOS 60D body.
This is my entry in Fotosöndag 2011-10-16. The theme is "Färg" which in english is colour.
So what has colour? Childrens toys of course, they often have lots of colours. This is the word "FÄRG" written in Duplo Lego, captured in a refraction of a drop of water.
I used my nifty fifty with all my macro extension tubes to get close. It is lit by the Speedlight 380 EX.
Unfortunateley I did not get any nice drops when I tried with smaller things like thread so this big wooden thing blocks the view....
Thanks for the visit ;-)

Experimenting with the macro extension tubes (cheap ones without electricity).
These are crystals of Sea salt shot at f13 with my nifty-fifty and three extension tubes.
First attempt using Macro Extension Tubes. Spider appeared on the wall next to my computer so grabbed the camera and tubes and had a try. Not bad for $23 and a hand held quick photo.
Wow, 1st Flickr upload this year. In fact 1st upload since Sept 6th 07! Also my first ever Hibiscus macro. Lots of firsts!
I've neglected Flickr and photography in general for far too long. Settled in my job and with plenty of spare time means I can get back to my love affair with the camera.

Well, I am really tired today, went to the training at 7 in the morning, then to the office and I have to stay there until 21:30, still lots of work and some things are not working as they should but hopefully it will be better tomorrow and yes, tomorrow day five, yeah!
Ah, yes, about the photo, what do you think it is? What do you see? Do you have any idea? I really love my macro extension rings!
My grandma never allowed to wipe spider webs out of the house, barn or any other place not to even mention killing those magnificent creatures. Although they have pretty bad PR (most likely organized by flies) they are little heroes who are catching evil spirits in their webs, so they don't bother us :)

Used Macro extension tubes No.s 1 & 2 (9mm, 16mm) with a standard 18-55mm kit lens. Aperature was set to f/11 before extension tubes were added. Lit with an angle poise desk lamp. Taken approx 2-3 cm from subject.

GIMP
Hi everyone, here my today's photo, I started to play with the macro extension tubes and I wanted to do some "macro bokeh" photos but then I turned to do just a normal macro shot and then I decided to play a bit with gimp well here is the result.
Today not much to say, I am tired and I need to go to sleep, so hope you had a great day and read you tomorrow!
