Today I packed up my rooster and sent him off to seek his fortune. I couldn't resist a few more shots!
Machine embroidered free standing black lace mask with green crystals on one side, and purple crystals on the other. Finished with a black feather accent on one side.
Finished with black satin ribbon ties (about 16 inches long per side), this mask would be great for any Mardi Gras event, masquerade ball, or even Halloween. It's very lightweight and comfortable to wear for hours.

In Italian trapunto means "to embroider," and in Latin it means "to prick with a needle." English and American quilters usually call the technique stuffed work.
Because there are many stitches close together, the stippled background lies flatter that the rest, making the stuffed parts stand out even more.

Collaged map of Hastings, using pages from an old map, scraps of machine embroidered textiles mounted on to linen canvas. The roads are all hand stitched in red and blue. The whole piece is then painted with bees wax.
It's not sewn together yet, but this is a view of the back of Block 1 of the Feathered Star quilt from Hoop Sisters.

I’ve had weird feelings of detachment about my body most of my life and it felt especially strong after having a baby, and after this year’s surgeries, and other stuff like weight and fitness fluctuations etc etc. Anyway sharing this makes me uncomfortable so that’s.. good???

I have many thank you cards to make following my birthday so I decided to batch make a few.
I machine embroidered some basic cartoon faces although they will look very different when they are decorated.
Their characters are starting to show already
I was pestered by solicitors whilst busy embroidering a project yesterday, which prompted the making of this embroidery design. Usually mild-mannered, I am assuredly moved to a pissed-off-state when people I don't know come to my door and start asking ME personal questions. I stitched it out and it's hanging on my front door.
I wanted to add, "...Unless you are bleeding and need my help. If you are NOT bleeding, I can fix that, as well." But, I decided to be nice.
So, whether they are soliciting money, or my soul, or my attendance at their church, I hope this will make them go away and not come back.
