My first ever cream macaroon, having succumbed and bought some at the little tiny shop on the corner of Moonta and Grote Streets. The second one was taken 2 bites later. It was surprisingly delicious ... not too sweet and the textures were divine.
WIKIPEDIA
A macaroon is a type of light, baked confection, described as either small cakes or meringue-like cookies depending on their consistency. The original macaroon was a "small sweet cake consisting largely of ground almonds" similar to Italian amaretti. The English word macaroon and French macaron come from the Italian maccarone or maccherone. This word is itself derived from ammaccare, meaning crush or beat, used here in reference to the almond paste which is the principal ingredient.

Yesterday I made my first macaroons! (veeery edible! not pc this time;)
The greens are with lime curd inside and cocoa on top, and the white ones are with vanilla white chocolate ganache and coconut on top.
they are a little crocked and some are really ugly but all are unbelievable tasty - best 5 hours spent in kitchen ever!
And the process of making them is real magic!
